Former Colleague Responds After Brutal Stephen A. Smith Diss

Stephen A. Smith is known for not holding back when delivering his blunt opinions on sports, pop culture, and anything else he feels the need to chime in on. He's also aired out his thoughts on other figures in the sports entertainment world, with his most recent target being fellow commentator Jason Whitlock.

On the Oct. 11 episode of The Stephen A. Smith Show, Smith didn't mention Whitlock by name, but fans and viewers deduced that he was speaking about Whitlock, who threatened to expose information about Smith's colleague Shannon Sharpe a few weeks ago.

Smith called this person a "fat, no-good bastard who I despise to the core," adding, "It ain't hard to figure out who the hell I'm talking about." He noted that he wasn't talking about Marcellus Wiley, who recently criticized Smith for allegedly pushing him out out of a job at ESPN, or any of his former First Take colleagues. "They ain't fat bastards who [are] seeds of the devil wishing nothing but Black folks harm," he explained.

Though Smith didn't mention Whitlock by name, the conservative commentator responded with a video speaking directly to Smith.

"Stephen A., I would just like to say, I am not your enemy. I am a critic and I will criticize you from time to time," he said. "'Seed of the devil,' really? Come on now. I'm the seed of the devil because I criticize you and other people in the media who make a living criticizing other people and other athletes? You can't take it?"

"Silly. That's unhealthy. I say that just like when you call me fat bastard, what you're basically saying is 'Jason, you're overweight and that is unhealthy,'" he added. "I've got no problem with it."

Whatever happened to: "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all"?
