'The Pat McAfee Show' Announces Tom Cruise Appearance

Although the NBA and NHL playoffs are in full swing, Pat McAfee will take a break from sports this week to talk about Tom Cruise's newest film, "Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning."

Cruise, 62, has been playing the role of Ethan Hunt in the "Mission: Impossible" franchise since 1996. Last week, he received a standing ovation after "The Final Reckoning" premiered at Cannes Film Festival.

Since the release of the eighth "Mission: Impossible" film, Cruise has faced a ton of questions about his future. With that said, he should brace for a few more questions this Wednesday afternoon.

McAfee announced that Cruise will make a guest appearance on his ESPN show this Wednesday. He's expected to join "The Pat McAfee Show" at 12:30 p.m. ET.

"We have some breaking news," McAfee said on Tuesday's show. "Tom Cruise will be on the show tomorrow. Tom Cruise is on the show tomorrow! Obviously, 'Final Reckoning' is in theaters on Thursday. Everybody is going to to this move. It's 2 hours and 50 minutes - I believe - of nonstop right hook, left hook, right hook, left hook."

It'll be interesting to see how Cruise interacts with McAfee and his crew.

Cruise has already said he's thinking about projects outside of the "Mission: Impossible" franchise. That's a strong sign that he's ready to move on from this incredible chapter of his career.

"It took me 35 years to figure out Top Gun: Maverick, so all of these things we’re working on, we’re discussing [sequels to] "Days of Thunder" and "Top Gun: Maverick." There’s numerous other films that we’re actively working on right now," Cruise said. "I’m always shooting a film, prepping a film, posting a film. I just finished a film with Alejandro Iñárritu too, who did The Revenant, that was an extraordinary experience."

As of this Tuesday, "The Final Reckoning" has an 80% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Hopefully, it's a fitting conclusion to Ethan Hunt's journey.
