Disneyland Announces Major Menu Change for 70th Anniversary

Disneyland Resort wants its guests to come hungry when they visit the Anaheim, CA park because there are major menu changes ahead.

The theme park is celebrating its 70th anniversary, so there's nothing better than having over 70 new food items to choose from. According to Disney Parks Blog which has the full menu, fans are going to be lining up for the tasty treats that were launched on May 16.

There's a 70th Celebration Churro that's a colorful delight topped with blue raspberry icing and sprinkles. According to ComicBook.com, it can be found "near Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Haunted Mansion, and Town Square." There's also the House-filled Celebration Beignet served at Tiana's Palace with a "raspberry mousse, buttercream glaze, and topped with an edible candle."

In the last 20 years, Disney has elevated its food experience for their guests, causing its limited-edition menus to go viral on social media. It's a strategy that has worked well for the company.

“Rides and attractions are the number one, then food and beverage are really neck and neck with why people go to the parks,” Dennis Speigel, president of International Theme Parks Services, told CNBC in 2022. “It’s just a fact. And what parks have seized on in the last 20 years is building their new attractions around areas that offer food and beverage.”

It's part of the Disney's "history of innovation" and has kept other amusement parks constantly chasing them — they are consistently the leader of the pack.

“It expands the experience,” said Bill Coan, president and CEO of iTEC Entertainment, to the media outlet. “Disney is playing this out and playing it up to advance the visitor experience and at the same time generate incremental revenue.”

For anyone thinking of trying Disneyland's 70th anniversary treats, be sure to head to the California amusement park before July 17.
