FBI Makes Disturbing Finding In Palm Springs Bombing

One person died and four others were injured after a car bombing outside of a fertilization clinic in Palm Springs, California on Saturday. 

The FBI is currently investigating the bombing as an act of terrorism, and new information could indicate a possible motive for the attack.

Two senior law enforcement officials familiar with the case tell NBC News that the attack appears to be influenced by anti-natalist ideology - the belief that no one should have children.

Investigators are looking through social media posts from the suspect that support these views. The investigation has also shown that the yet-to-be-identified suspect was also dealing with depression and relationship issues.

The explosion was first recorded at around 11 am on Saturday, at the American Reproductive Centers fertility clinic. The street also included several other proprietors, including an adjacent medical facility.

The clinic noted that a car exploded in the parking lot next to its building through a social media post. After explaining that "our deepest condolences go out to the individuals and families affected," the clinic shared much-needed positive news.

"We are immensely grateful to share that no members of the ARC team were harmed, and our lab—including all eggs, embryos, and reproductive materials—remains fully secure and undamaged," ARC said in its post detailing the damage from the attack.

"Our mission has always been to help build families, and in times like these, we are reminded of just how fragile and precious life is. In the face of this tragedy, we remain committed to creating hope—because we believe that healing begins with community, compassion, and care."

The clinic also announced that it will be "fully operational" on Monday morning, thanking local law enforcement and first responders for their help and assistance.

Akil Davis, assistant director of the FBI's Los Angeles field office, said that Saturday's attack was an "intentional act of terrorism." Davis also noted that the investigation will determine whether the terrorism in question is domestic or international.

The names of the deceased and injured have yet to be revealed from Saturday's attack, and authorities will continue to investigate the incident over the coming days and weeks.
