REI has announced its final member discount of 2023, granting REI Co-op members 20% off the most expensive item in their cart until 11:59 p.m. PST. This comes after a wave of holiday sales that saw discounts on everything from winter jackets to car roof racks.
This member discount is slightly different as REI Co-op members (and those interested in becoming members) have one day to save on products that weren’t available during the other events, including Yeti coolers, running shoes from On, and even the iconic #500-series Chelsea boots from Blundstone.
To get the discount, members have to log into their REI Co-op accounts and use the code “WINTER23” at checkout. Those who aren’t members have the opportunity to gain access to this discount by signing up today for a lifetime membership for the one-time $30 fee. Signing up also grants access to free standard shipping with no minimums, discounted rentals and shop services, plus 10% back at the end of the year on eligible purchases. If you sign up today, REI will also give you a $30 bonus card to be used on a future purchase.
There are a few exclusions on today’s discount, including bikes, skis, snowboards, and other seasonal gear. Despite that, the lineup of eligible products is too good to pass up. Here’s what we’re looking at today during REI’s final members-only discount.
Blundstone Original Chelsea Boots, $168 (was $209) at REI
It’s rare enough to find Blundstone boots on sale, let alone the original series. But the #510 Chelsea boots in black are just $168 with today’s REI member discount. These boots are a fantastic pick for winter thanks to their durable lug sole and weather-sealed leather and stitching. But even after winter, they’re a solid pick to punch up an outfit. This pair isn’t insulated, so it’d be wise to rock them with a pair of wool socks. For something warmer, look into the insulated Chelsea boot, which comes in black and brown.
Yeti Roadie 48 Wheeled Cooler, $360 (was $450) at REI
Yeti coolers also seldom go on sale, which makes this a rare opportunity to snag one for less. We’ve personally tested the Roadie 48 and swear this is the best Yeti cooler you could have. The 48 size is perfect for chilling food for a weekend camping trip, drinks for a party of 12-15, or a beach day for a large family. The wheels are paramount for convenience, too, making them easier to move than the Yeti Tundra coolers and less of a drag on your shoulder than the soft coolers.
On Cloud X 3 Road-Running Shoes, $120 (was $150) at REI
Sometimes, stepping into a new brand of running shoes after sticking with one brand for so long can be daunting. Getting a discount on a new pair makes the transition easier, though. On is a brand many runners have migrated to because they’re lightweight, supportive, and stable. The Cloud X 3 is a new style at REI and is good for runners with neutral foot types who prefer road or treadmill running. They have an 8mm drop, which is helpful for forward propulsion, and are made from a total of 35-40% recycled materials.
Stanley Quencher H2.0 FlowState Tumbler (40 Ounces), $36 (was $45) at REI
Santa and Stanley had a pretty good thing going this year, but for those who didn’t find a tumbler under the tree, now is the time to grab one. The 40-ounce Stanley Quencher tumbler is the perfect size for all-day use. People love the convenience of a handle when having to carry a load of groceries, textbooks, or everyday gear from place to place. The straw also makes drinking water even easier, cutting out the process of having to take a lid off a bottle. Choose from one of 13 colors.
Patagonia Nano Puff Jacket, $191 (was $239) at REI
The Patagonia Nano Puff Jacket is the bestselling men’s clothing item that’s eligible for the member discount. It’s earned a 4.4-star rating after nearly 800 votes and remains one of the best three-season jackets you could get at REI. It’s insulated with 60 grams of post-consumer recycled polyester that helps keep you warm, but it also blocks wind and has a DWR coating to help repel water. It’s also fully packable into its internal zipper chest pocket, making it the ideal camping, backpacking, and travel companion.
