Brandon Marsh Celebrates Phillies Win With Mechanical Bull Ride

The Philadelphia Phillies clinched the top wild card spot on Tuesday night after winning 3–2 against the Pittsburgh Pirates. And with the defending National League champions officially returning to the postseason in October, there was certainly a certainly a cause for celebration in Philly.

Rookie Johan Rojas was to thank for the winning hit, scoring a walk-off single in the 10th inning. The team is also looking good heading into the playoffs with MLB's second-best record of 88–69, behind only the NL East rival Atlanta Braves at 101–56. Compare that to last year, when the Phillies were the final team to qualify for the postseason, only to make it all the way to the World Series before getting shut out by the Houston Astros after six games.

If the energy on Tuesday night was any indication, that won't be happening again this year—especially when you consider the team's stacked roster of power hitters including Kyle Schwarber, Nick Castellanos, Trea Turner, Bryce Harper, and J.T. Realmuto.

But it was outfielder Brandon Marsh that gave the Phils an initial 1–0 lead last night with a solo home run, his 11th of the season, at the bottom of the 6th inning. And after the on-field dance party wound down, Marsh and a few of his teammates made their way across the street to Xfinity Live!, a dining and entertainment venue in the heart of the Philly sports complex, to continue the festivities.

Naturally, this meant Marsh—one of the bigger characters in the Phils 2023 lineup—rode the mechanical bull at PBR Philly, a cowboy-themed bar located inside Xfinity Live!

"They are winning the world series," the Absolutely Hammered podcast posted on the platform formerly known as Twitter, sharing a TikTok video of Marsh whipping his belt off and getting down to it. Within just a few hours being posted on Wednesday morning, the video has already been viewed nearly 150,000 times.

With the Eagles 3–0 so far this season, it seems like it's about to be a wild fall for sports in Philly. Suffice it to say, the city is going to completely run out of grease by the end of Red October.
