Mountain Dew is altering its upcoming lineup, reportedly ditching an annual release flavor in favor of a new concoction.
In November 2024, Sporked's Tyler Bowers broke the news that Mountain Dew was discontinuing its popular VooDEW Halloween mystery flavor. Instead, PepsiCo, Mountain Dew's parent company, would be teaming up with Trolli gummy candy to create a cherry-lemon flavor.
In addition, Trolli will also reportedly launch Mountain Dew-flavored gummy candy to complete the collaboration.
This weekend, the popular Snackolator Instagram account confirmed some additional details of the upcoming Mountain Dew Cherry Lemon Trolli release, which should be happening in September.
"I don't know if you're ready for this one - the Trolli x Mountain Dew collab is almost here and it looks amazing!" Snackolator said. "Coming soon is a new Mountain Dew that is Cherry Lemon Trolli flavored in zero sugar. This will be available in both 12pks of cans and 20oz bottles and is going to replace VooDoo this year. I'll update once this hits store shelves - it's scheduled for September but hopefully it starts showing up earlier! Are you excited for this one?"
Reaction to the Snackolator post has been overwhelmingly positive.
"Been so excited for this one! So glad it’s real," one person wrote.
"It really sucks that there's only zero sugar for this flavor, I can't stand artificial sugars and I'd love to have this flavor available to me," another person lamented.
"WHAT???? A trolli flavor omg I’m definitely gonna try this sometime when it’s out," a third person said.
"Excited for this one," chimed in a fourth.
"Trolli really trying for all the markets," a fifth person added.
It is expected that the Cherry Lemon Trolli flavor will be available through the Halloween season, similar to how VooDew had been since 2019.
Will you be giving it a try?
