Richard Simmons, the iconic fitness guru, has passed away at 76 years old. TMZ first reported the news, which was confirmed by a rep to ABC. A cause of death has not yet been revealed.
TMZ is reporting that "police and fire responded to a call from his housekeeper just before 10 a.m. Saturday and pronounced him dead at the scene. We're told no foul play is suspected at this time, and cops are looking into it as a natural death."
Simmons birthday was just yesterday, and he took to social media to thank fans for the support.
Thank you…I never got so many messages about my birthday in my life! I am sitting here writing emails. Have a most beautiful rest of your Friday.
