For many Americans, stopping in at a fast casual chain is the perfect way to get a quick and full meal at any time of day. They've risen to compete with the country's classic fast food chains (known in the industry as quick-service restaurants or QSRs), offering a higher-end dining experience at a more premium price point.
USA Today readers readers weighed in on their favorite fast casual restaurants across the country and came up with 10 great options for diners of all kinds. The cuisines range from Mexican and Middle Eastern to classic burger joints.
At the top of the list is Qdoba Mexican Eats, which maintains a hardcore customer base in many cities. It's also not the only Mexican chain on the list, with Torchy's Tacos right behind Qdoba in second and the ubiquitous Chipotle Mexican Grill rounding out the list at tenth.
If you're looking for a traditional burger and fries, there's plenty to choose from. BurgerFi sits at number three on the list with Culver's at seven and the iconic Five Guys in eighth. In the mood for Chicago-style hot dogs? Check out Portillo's. And if you're looking to go a little healthier, you can stop by Tropical Smoothie Café or Mendocino Farms.
