Kris Boyd Shooting Suspect Took Off in a Blue BMW

New York Jets cornerback Kris Boyd is "clinging to life" after being shot in New York City. The suspect is at large, and police believe the gunman took off in a blue BMW after an argument outside a restaurant not far from Times Square.

The New York Jets Said Only That They Were 'Aware of the Situation' With Kris Boyd

"We are aware of the situation involving Kris Boyd and will have no further comment at this time,” a representative for the team told The Post.

According to ABC 7, police officers "found the 29-year-old Jets player with a gunshot wound to the abdomen." They took Boyd to Bellevue Hospital. He was listed in critical condition on November 16, the station reported.

Police are looking for a man who fled the scene in a blue BMW, according to ABC 7. It's not clear whether Boyd knew the suspect.

Boyd filled his Instagram page with religious and inspirational says.

In August, Boyd wrote on Instagram, "Gods unconditional love and grace is my biggest blessing!!πŸ’šπŸˆπŸ™πŸΎ"

"When we follow God’s plan and timing for our own lives, we assist the process of spiritual growth," he wrote in March.

A Jets Player Issued a Prayer for Kris Boyd on Social Media

Jets player Jermaine Johnson II joined those praying for Boyd's recovery.

"Everybody please send prayers to my brother and teammate Kris Boyd and his family!!! Lord please hold your healing hand over Kris and guide him back to health and safety. Lord I ask that you please just get him through this safely. In your name, Amen," he wrote on X.

According to USA Today, Boyd was going to miss the season due to a shoulder injury. He previously played for the Minnesota Vikings, Houston Texans and Arizona Cardinals.

"Boyd (5-11, 201) sustained a shoulder injury during the team's Green & White practice on August 2," the Jets wrote on their website. "Boyd, who has been a core special teams player for most of his career, signed with the Jets in March."

Boyd was listed on the injured reserve. Boyd was drafted in round 7 of the 2019 draft, according to his ESPN stats page. He went to college at Texas.
