Florida's New High-Speed Train Route Is Now Selling Tickets

Two of Florida's top tourist destinations will soon be just a quick train ride away from each other, and tickets are finally on sale.

The privately owned Brightline rail system has launched ticket sales for its new route, which connects its brand new station at Orlando International Airport to the South Florida cities of Miami, Aventura, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, and West Palm Beach. Travel dates begin September 1 for the new leg.

The train will travel at speeds of up to 125 miles per hour on this section, making it one of the fastest train services in the United States—albeit still quite a bit slower than many passenger rail routes in Europe and Asia. The pre-existing Miami to West Palm Beach service topped out at 79 miles per hour.

Tickets for the full Orlando–Miami route start at $79 for adults and $39 for children in economy, with a family four-pack available for less than $199. Meanwhile, business-class adult tickets begin at $139, and include slightly larger seats, complimentary snacks, and free Uber rides within five miles of any station. All levels of service feature high-speed Starlink WiFi, power outlets, and leather seats.

Brightline will run 16 daily round-trip journeys departing hourly between Orlando and Miami, with additional service from Miami to West Palm Beach. The end-to-end ride takes around 3 hours and 30 minutes with intermediate stops.

The launch of this service means that if you're thinking of fitting Disney and South Florida beaches into one trip, you can do it all without a car. You can purchase tickets now on the Brightline website.
