Savannah Guthrie's mom, Nancy Guthrie, has been missing since the early morning hours of February 1. Although there's no sign of the missing Tucson woman, authorities are racing against the clock to bring her home, and now they've developed additional details about the suspect.
A suspect description is slowly coming into focus, gleaned from video authorities recovered from Nancy Guthrie's door camera. FBI analysts have determined a few key details about the still unidentified suspect. The new details relate to the suspect's height and backpack.

The updated description is as follows, per the FBI Phoenix office:
- The suspect "is described as a male, approximately 5’9” - 5’10” tall, with an average build."
- In the video, he is wearing "a black, 25-liter ‘Ozark Trail Hiker Pack’ backpack. "
- "New identifying details about the suspect in the kidnapping of Nancy Guthrie have been confirmed after a forensic analysis of the doorbell camera footage by the FBI’s Operational Technology Division," the FBI wrote.
The FBI also wrote this week that the agency was conducting searches of roadways near Guthrie's Tucson home. The agency released a series of chilling photos showing a masked, armed person tampering with Guthrie's door camera. The new description update comes after authorities briefly detained and then released a delivery driver, who told the media he had nothing to do with Guthrie's disappearance.
The Pima County Sheriff's Office is seeking additional video footage. "The Pima County Sheriff's Department is urgently requesting your assistance in locating Nancy Guthrie, 84, who last seen on the evening of January 31, 2026, at her residence near East Skyline Drive and North Campbell Avenue.
