Tom Holland Admits to This ‘Anxiety’-Based Behavior in Zendaya Relationship

During a recent interview on Samah Dada’s On The Menu podcast, Tom Holland admitted to some rather bizarre behavior in his relationship with Zendaya which he said stems from his “anxiety” about their public romance. Holland and Zendaya made their relationship public in 2021 after meeting on the set of Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017).

The peculiar revelation came when Holland was asked about his most recent Google search. “The last thing I Googled was actually Zendaya,” Holland revealed. “I’m not on [social media], and I delete it when I’m not using it.”

Apparently, Holland's lack of social media presence compels him to track what his partner is doing in real-time. “So, sometimes, like, it’s more of a bit of an anxiety thing,” he explained, “but I’ll check to see if everything’s good and to make sure we’re all cool. So I just give her a little Google and look [through] the news, and I’m like, ‘She’s good. We’re fine.'”

It’s unclear what exactly Holland is expecting to find through these searches, but perhaps some of us can relate to Googling the one we love in an effort to learn more about them. Admittedly, the act is somewhat different when that person is one of the most famous people in the world.

Holland and Zendaya have kept their relationship extremely private by Hollywood standards. “Our relationship is something that we are incredibly protective of and we want to keep as sacred as possible. We don’t think that we owe it to anyone, it’s our thing, and it has nothing to do with our careers,” Holland told The Hollywood Reporter last year.

He and Zendaya will reteam on the big screen for Spider-Man 4, which is set to begin filming next year.
