Jenna Dewan's Fiancé Appears to Celebrate After Channing Tatum-Zoë Kravitz Split

It doesn't seem as though Channing Tatum will find much sympathy from his ex-wife Jenna Dewan following his split from fiancée Zoë Kravitz. Shortly after the news broke that the couple had ended their engagement on Tuesday, Dewan's fiancé Steve Kazee appeared to take quite the victory lap.

Posting to his Instagram story, the 48-year-old actor wrote "HAHAHAHA" all-caps in white letters on a black background, completely filling up the screen.

Instagram

As the gossip mill kicked into overdrive on Wednesday and people started talking about the post, Kazee seemed to reference it in a follow-up story. "A guy can't laugh about a houseplant TikTok in today's world I see," he wrote, seemingly nodding to an unrelated video he posted to his stories later on Tuesday.

Petty, perhaps. But it's also not surprising that Kazee would feel that way. He and the 43-year-old actress have been an item since October 2018, just six months after Tatum and Dewan announced they were separating. Kazee has subsequently been by Dewan's side through her acrimonious, six-year divorce proceedings with Tatum, which were only just recently finalized last month. Kazee and Dewan likewise share two children together; their daughter was born in June.

In any case, there is clearly no love lost between the former spouses. Back in April, Tatum asked a judge to terminate spousal support for his estranged wife after "numerous attempts to settle the dispute out of court" had failed. The financial dispute involved profits made of Magic Mike, which the 44-year-old filmed during the marriage.

For her part, Dewan claims they both contributed financially to the project and that Tatum and his business manager "hid and downplayed the value" of the film.

Tatum and Dewan also share a daughter together, Everly, 11, so perhaps the former couple will be able to put aside their differences eventually for the sake of their child.

Dwyane Wade Statue Sculptor Defends Work Amid Fan Backlash

On Oct. 27, Dwyane Wade's legacy with the Miami Heat was cemented in history with the unveiling of a new bronze statue outside the team's Kaseya Center home, making Wade the first Heat player in history to be memorialized in metal. But the statue quickly drew criticism online for its lack of resemblance to the three-time NBA champ.

Now, the statue's sculptors are speaking out in regard to any negative reactions. When asked about the backlash against his work, artist Omri Amrany stood by his creation. "I couldn’t do better than that. I don’t think anybody else can do better than that," he told Miami sports reporter Will Manso. "It is what it is, and we will love it forever."

Amrany and co-sculptor Oscar León stated plainly that they did their best. "At the end of the day we want to do the best job possible with human hands," they explained.

"I want to be an artist that creates an in-your-face response and you cannot expect all of human society will have a positive reaction," the Israeli-born Amrany told Front Office Sports. "Some people will come with a goofy response or angry response. That’s not because of what the art is itself, but rather how it makes them feel. So, if this is my part of being a psychologist, fine."

Amrany, who met with Wade several times during the sculpture process, has also created statues of other basketball legends including a Michael Jordan piece in Chicago and the misspelled Kobe Bryant statue unveiled earlier this year in Los Angeles.

Wade, for his part, is well aware of the jokes that have been made about the statue and its apparent resemblance to actor Laurence Fishburne

“The social media world is about opinions. Everyone has an opinion," he told reporters. "Send some memes. We don’t care. It was a special moment yesterday, my family and I."

"It doesn't need to look like me; it's an artistic version of a moment that happened that we're trying to cement," he added. The statue depicts Wade's famous "This is my house" celebration from a 2009 victory over the Chicago Bulls. "I appreciate all the comments that everyone has because I'm in on the joke, guys, like I laugh all the time. I'm cool. I saw some memes of it; it's kinda got a little Laurence Fishburne lower jawline."

Regardless of how the statue looks, it's the sentiment of having Wade's career cast in history forever that counts.

Junior Ski Champ Dead at 19

Up-and-coming Italian skiing star Matilde Lorenzi has died at the age of 19 after a training session on Oct. 29 went tragically awry.

According to  TMZ, Lorenzi, a member of the Italian Army's sports section, was completing a training run on the Grawand G1 slope in Italy's Val Senales valley when she lost control and suffered a devastating head injury. She was taken to the hospital by helicopter where she was later pronounced dead.

The International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) issued a statement grieving Lorenzi's sudden passing.

"We are deeply saddened by the passing of Matilde Lorenzi, as announced by the Italian Ministry of Defense, who conveyed heartfelt condolences for the 19-year-old athlete of the Italian Army," the statement read, per Powder. "FIS joins FISI President Flavio Roda and the entire Italian winter sports community in mourning, including coaches, athletes, teammates, the federal council, and all FISI staff."

"FISI is in mourning, standing by her family, friends, and everyone who cherished Matilde, honoring her memory today and always," the statement concluded.

Acclaimed American skiers Lindsey Vonn and Mikaela Shiffrin were among those sharing their condolences on Instagram. "This is a tragic loss. Sending my thoughts to her family," Vonn said; Shiffrin similarly sent "So much love to her family, friends, and teammates."

Lorenzi was the Italian junior overall champion and Super-G champion last year. Her sister Lucrezia, also a competitive alpine skier, mourned the loss on her Instagram Stories. "With great sorrow I announce that our Mati has left us," she wrote, detailing where fans in Italy can pay their respects this week.

Dwyane Wade Statue Unveiling Goes Viral for Wrong Reasons

Dwyane Wade's legacy with the Miami Heat is unmatched, so it's no surprise that the three-time NBA champ was the first Heat player to be honored with their own statue outside the Kaseya Center. But the unveiling ceremony on Oct. 27 quickly became the subject of jokes online.

Many fans felt the statue looks nothing like the Heat legend, with some remarking that it looks more like Laurence Fishburne than Dwyane Wade. "[It] looks like a zombie Laurence Fishburne about to chomp on a human," one person wrote on X; another commented on Instagram "That ain't Wade; that's Morpheus from [The] Matrix."

ESPN NFL reporter Jeff Darlington chimed in on social media adding to the chorus. "The Miami Heat should’ve had a contest where they showed this picture to 1,000 fans, and anyone who guesses it’s Dwyane Wade gets to keep the statue," he said.

Sports commentator Bill Simmons didn't hold back his thoughts on the matter on the Oct. 27 episode of The Bill Simmons Podcast.

“The biggest loser of the day was Dwyane Wade who had the worst statue of all time," he said. "It looked like somebody who had emerged from a fire and lived. It was like Jim Carrey’s [Fire Marshal Bill] sketch [on In Living Color]. Can you imagine having a statue look that bad of yourself being unveiled? What would you even say? ‘Uh, thanks?'

"There’s never been a worse sports statue ever," he added.

Commenters on the video similarly saw the Laurence Fishburne resemblance, saying the statue "looks like Morpheus being tortured by the agents before Neo and Trinity rescue him."

For his part, Wade was overwhelmed by the love while also quipping about the statue's appearance. "That's crazy; who is that guy?" he said after the statue made its big debut.

"This is crazy," he told the crowd after the unveiling, per CNN. "I wanted to feel this. Life goes by so fast and it’s very rare that we get to feel things, because we’re always off to the next thing… I wanted to feel this, man. I wanted to look at it."

It's not the only NBA player statue to be roasted recently. Back in April, Philadelphia 76ers star Allen Iverson was memorialized with a statue, though many observers believed the statue was too small to honor an NBA giant. By contrast, Wade's bronze statue stands at over eight feet tall.

How To Detect If Your Food Contains Contaminants? FSSAI Explains

With frequent headlines about food adulteration to cut costs or outbreaks of infections from contaminated ingredients, ensuring food safety and quality has become a critical concern. By purchasing prepared food or raw ingredients from trusted sources, we can minimise our risk of consuming contaminated foods. Additionally, it is important to follow hygienic cooking, eating, and food storage practices at home. The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) recently shared an Instagram post discussing different types of food contaminants and how to identify each of them. In the caption, FSSAI wrote, "Clean hands, clean surfaces, safe food! A little care goes a long way in keeping your meals safe!"

Such knowledge can help you remain alert and aware before consuming any potentially contaminated food item:

Here Are 3 Possible Types of Food Contamination as Shared by FSSAI:

1. Physical Contamination

Physical contamination occurs when a physical object enters the food during production or preparation. It can be intentional, as seen in cases of adulterated food products, or accidental due to a lack of awareness. Physical contaminants include any foreign material like stones, stems, seeds, feathers, sand, nails, dust, dirt, straw, hair, etc. Physical objects in food can be a choking hazard and harm your teeth.

How to detect: FSSAI recommends observing the food item carefully, feeling it with your hands, and checking by washing, sieving, etc.

Also Read: Stop Reheating Your Tea! Expert Shares 3 Ways It Could Be Harming Your Health

2. Chemical Contamination

Chemical contamination occurs when the food comes into contact with toxic chemicals, leading to potential chemical food poisoning. Preservatives, permitted additives beyond safety limits, pesticide residues, insecticides, reused oil, and cleaning chemicals are all examples of chemical contaminants.

Fresh oil and used oil should not be mixed. Avoid using excessive detergent or sanitizer to clean food preparation surfaces, glassware, dishes, or cutlery. Also, rinse and dry dishes well after using detergent. Use only food-grade plastic and metals for cooking.

How to detect: Look for unusual colour, odour and taste.

3. Microbiological Contamination

Biological or microbiological contamination occurs when food becomes contaminated by living organisms or the substances they produce. Invisible contamination in this case includes bacteria, yeast, protozoa, mould, and viruses, while visible contaminants include flies, worms, cockroaches, weevils, caterpillars, etc.

Biological contamination can lead to foodborne illness. In this case, the disease-causing microorganisms, also called pathogens, get into food and multiply to unsafe levels before being eaten. Bacteria and other pathogens thrive in foods that are moist, high in protein or starch, or neutral in acidity.

How to detect: Observe changes in texture, odour, and colour. Special tests are available for each.

Follow food safety practices at home and avoid eating outside food that seems risky or even doubtful. Stay healthy!

This Spicy New American Single Malt Whiskey Is Perfect for Fall Sipping

American single malt has been around for decades, but it still doesn’t have the legal definition that other American whiskeys like bourbon and rye have. Distillers and whiskey fans thought that was about to change a few years ago when the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB, the federal agency in charge of alcohol) took up the matter.

To this date, there are still no set guidelines in place. The American Single Malt Whiskey Commission (ASMWC) proposed the following rules, which are likely what will be instituted when the government finally gets around to it: American single malt must be made from a mash bill of 100 percent barley at one distillery in the U.S., matured in new or used oak casks, distilled to no more than 160 proof, and bottled at a minimum of 80 proof.

Portland, OR, distillery Westward Whiskey was a founding member of the ASMWC, and it has been making single malt for about 20 years that meets all of those qualifications. The whiskey is informed by three core tenets: it’s brewed like craft ale, distilled like a single malt, and aged like a bourbon. All of those characteristics can be found in the core lineup, which start out as ale that is then distilled twice in pot stills and aged in toasted and charred new American oak barrels.

Of course, like bourbon, there are variations on that maturation, at least as far as cask finishing, and different expressions are given a secondary maturation in pinot noir wine barrels, stout casks, and sherry casks.

The latest Westward release is different, however. Milestone Edition No. 2 – A Discovery of Spice is the second in this series of expensive expressions that is meant to encapsulate “... Old World winemaking and distilling techniques through the lens of American whiskey,” according to the brand. And in that, it has succeeded.

Westward Whiskey's new single malt is full of spice.

Courtesy Image

As mentioned, it's the second Milestone release. And this new edition is drawn from whiskey aged in a solera style system of 21 barrels. That means that master blender Miles Munroe replaces the whiskey that he pulls from the barrels for this release with other whiskey, ensuring that there will always be some older liquid in the blend and that each edition will be different from the previous one. Munroe said he was inspired by a visit to Taiwan during which he paired street food with each of the core Westward expressions.

For this Milestone edition, he attempted to capture a bit of spice on the palate by using stout, pinot noir, and rum cask finished whiskeys in the blend, along with a small amount of amburana-finished whiskey. Thankfully, this does not completely overwhelm the palate with notes of cinnamon potpourri, as is usually the case with whiskey aged in this type of Brazilian wood. Calling it A Discovery of Spice is right. There are big notes of cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice on the palate, along with flavors like licorice, chocolate, toasted nuts, raisins, and dates.

Unlike single malt Scotch, there is no real ultra-aged, high-end space in the American single malt category yet. At $250 per bottle, a release like Milestone is certainly a step in that direction, but clearly the focus is on quality and not just luxury for luxury’s sake.

Milestone No. 2 is sold out at the Westward website, but you can find it now in limited numbers in whiskey shops around the country.

MrBeast's Lunchly Meal Brand Hit By FDA Complaints, Mold Claims

Lunchly, the Lunchables-style brand of snack kits launched by YouTubers Logan Paul, Olajide "KSI" Olatunji, and Jimmy "MrBeast" Donaldson last month, is reportedly already getting dinged with Food and Drug Administration complaints. The complaints come on the heels of reports of moldy snack kits that have turned up on social media over the past week.

TMZ reports that as of Friday, more than 10 consumers have reported unspecified issues with the product. But at least one complaint claimed that someone became ill after consuming one of the meals. The federal agency says that it is currently reviewing all submissions while it makes the determination whether an advisory will be need to be issued to protect the public health of consumers.

The FDA adds that it's the responsibility of food producers to follow Current Good Manufacturing Practices regulations to ensure that products are safe. And if regulations are not adhered to, "appropriate action will be taken."

Earlier this week, YouTuber Rosanna Pansino went viral after attempting a review of Lunchly, only to find that the product she purchased had moldy cheese.

"This is disgusting. I was filming a video comparing Lunchables to Lunchly and was shocked when I opened ‘The Pizza’ Lunchly. The cheese had MOLD!" Pansino posted to X over the weekend, adding that the expiration date was still two months away and she found at least a dozen other people posting about moldy Lunchys online.

Indeed, it doesn't take long to find other instances on social media, with one user positing that the common denominator among all the claims may be faulty glue application on the packaging.

However, Paul and KSI, at least, don't appear to be concerned by the reports of mold. In the latest episode of the 29-year-old's Impaulsive podcast this week, he and KSI chalked up the controversy to jealousy over views. "It's super just weird how that works, bro," Paul said. "I feel like YouTubers should be supporting YouTubers."

In a statement to TMZ, a representative for the company was a bit more diplomatic in shooting down the claims.

"All Lunchly products go through a stringent review process to ensure the quality and safety of its products," the statement read. "That process consists of multiple inspections and approvals, including that of the USDA, before any product can even leave the manufacturing facility."
