Hoka is in the middle of one of its mega markdown periods during which a ton of styles go on sale at once and sell out rather quickly. This time, a handful of the brand's awesome hiking styles are up to 25% off just ahead of summer, including the nimble Speedgoat 5 trail runner and the thick but lightweight Kaha 2 GTX hiking boots. But one particular lightweight hiking boot has been flying off the shelves at REI now that it's nearly $50 off.
Hoka's Trail Code GTX Hiking Boot is now on sale for $138—a 25% discount on the normal $185 price tag. These waterproof boots are a top 5 bestselling style at REI with nearly 100 five-star ratings to show for it. They're available in sizes 9 to 12.5 and come in three colors, though some sizes have already started to sell out. If your size isn't available, make sure to check on the Hoka website.

These Hoka hiking boots have a mid-height shaft that covers the ankle while allowing for maximum mobility when powering through a trail. They're made with waterproof Gore-Tex fabric and have a breathable membrane that work together to keep feet cool and dry. Underneath is a durable Vibram Megagrip rubber sole with 5mm lugs that tear through earthy trails and grip to the sides of boulders, providing ample traction. And, in true Hoka fashion, it comes with a cushy midsole that absorbs shock while delivering a responsive ride with each step.
Though the brand isn't seen as a major player in the outdoor space, many have a newfound respect for it after trying this boot. "Surprisingly great and comfortable shoe," one shopper admitted. "I am a very active individual, often walking, running, or hiking. I had foot surgery that didn't work out so well and I was afraid that I would not be able to do all the things I like to do until I found Hoka. These shoes were amazingly soft and yet durable."

Others have noted that the boot's grippy lugs are phenomenal. "These shoes have the usual good cushioning and comfort of a Hoka," a shopper began. "I like the lug depth of 5mm. They bite into dirt and gravel trails better, resulting in less slipping on the trail." Another shopper agreed, saying, "The traction on wet rocks is very good."
If you're looking to hit the trail this summer and need footwear that's sure to provide excellent comfort and shock absorption, look no further than Hoka's Trail Code GTX Hiking Boot. This style is already selling out, so make sure to grab your size before it's gone for good.
