Jake Paul is certainly not afraid of controversy, and he created some on Saturday night after mocking the knee injury Conor McGregor suffered just seconds into his UFC 329 fight against Max Holloway.
The fight marked McGregor’s return after a five-year layoff, but it ended up being one of the more anticlimactic moments in recent sports history given the anticipation and hype surrounding his comeback.
Paul, who has had some previous back-and-forth with McGregor, chose to post a video of himself hobbling while holding his knee before falling into a pool. The caption read, “UFC highlights from tonight.”

MMA fans didn't take kindly to Paul trolling McGregor's injury.
"This isn’t funny, Jake," one fan wrote.
Another added, "Quite low to celebrate another man's injury."
A third wrote, "Karma has a way of coming around when you make fun of injuries in sports."
One more fan commented, "Funny how he’s laughing at someone when that was him just a few months ago."
Paul has challenged McGregor to a boxing match several times over the years, but the two have never been able to make a fight happen.
McGregor's only professional boxing match came in 2017 when he faced Floyd Mayweather Jr. in one of the biggest combat sports events in history.
While it's unlikely a fight with Paul would generate the same level of hype, it would still draw plenty of attention if McGregor ever entertained the idea.
However, after his knee injury on Saturday night, McGregor faces a long road to recovery before returning to competition, whether that's in the Octagon or the boxing ring — something he hasn't ruled out.
