Starz has officially landed the rights to S.W.A.T. Exiles, a spin-off series of S.W.A.T., the popular crime drama that ran on CBS from 2017-24.
Deadline first reported news of Starz acquiring S.W.A.T. Exiles, which is produced and distributed by Sony Pictures Television.
“The response to S.W.A.T. Exiles has been extraordinary and is a testament to the strength of the franchise, as well as the passion and commitment of Shemar Moore, Jason Ning and Neal H. Moritz, who have been outstanding partners throughout the process,” said Keith Le Goy, Chairman, Sony Pictures Television. “As we continue to expand the S.W.A.T. universe, this project reflects our broader strategy of making bold investments in premium IP and leveraging our independent studio model to identify opportunities, move quickly and maximize value around the world. When will S.W.A.T. Exiles premiere on Starz?
The show is set to debut on Sept. 25, Deadline's Nellie Andreeva reported. The first season will consist of 10 episodes.

Sony Pictures Television has sold S.W.A.T. Exiles in every major territory around the world, including Europe, Latin America, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and Africa.
What to know about S.W.A.T.?
The original S.W.A.T. premiered on Nov. 2, 2017 and ran for eight seasons and 163 episodes.
The show focuses on Los Angeles Police Department Sergeant Daniel "Hondo" Harrelson and his Twenty Squad, a S.W.A.T. unit. Shemar Moore, who played Harrelson, issued an official statement on the news of Starz acquiring S.W.A.T. Exiles.
