You’re Using Drywall Anchors Wrong - Fix It Fast

Installing drywall anchors is pretty straightforward, right? First, choose a drywall anchor that’s rated to handle the weight of whatever it is you’re planning to hang from it. Next, use a drill bit that matches the diameter of the anchor to drill a hole in the drywall. Tap the anchor into the hole until it’s flush to the wall then drive the screw into the anchor with a screwdriver or drill/driver. It’s the final step where most people get it wrong.

What Most People Get Wrong

As Toronto-based woodworker and influencer Kenny Chan demonstrates in his TikTok video on the topic, most people drive the screw into the anchor and stop when the head is protruding about an 1/8 inch to 1/4 inch or so from the wall, so that it can function as a hanger.

This problem with the practice has to do with the way a drywall anchor works. The tips of drywall anchors are designed to expand behind the wall, creating a brace that can support from 10 to as much as 100 lbs. depending on the size and type of the anchor and the thickness of the drywall.

Getty Images

Getty Images

But in order for the drywall anchor to fully anchor itself, the screw must activate it. As the screw threads into the anchor, it forces the anchor’s tip to expand, creating the brace. This only happens if you drive the screw fully into the anchor so that it’s flush to the wall. If you stop a 1/4-inch short, the anchor won’t fully activate.

Without that brace fully extended, the anchor won’t adequately support the weight of the object you’re hanging. It also won’t be secure in the wall and may spin or tear the drywall. If you’re using the anchor to support a floating shelf or towel rack, the anchor can actually work itself loose over time, eventually failing.

Drive It Home

When you’re installing the screw into the drywall anchor, drive it fully in so the head is flush to the wall to fully activate the anchor. Then back the screw out so you can use it as a hanger.

Note: Just as it's important to drive the screw flush to the wall, it’s also important not to over tighten the screw as doing so can tear the anchor apart.

Travis Kelce Financial Situation Adds to Difficult Retirement Decision

As one of the most consistent and dominant tight ends in the league throughout his career, Travis Kelce has typically been compensated handsomely for playing in the NFL. However, if he's going to return to the league and play another season, it sounds like he will actually be missing out on a lot of money.

As Kelce decides whether or not to return to the league for another year, Kelce faces a rather unique situation where playing another season might actually cost him money compared to his other alternatives.

Travis Kelce Faces Pay Cut

While the Kansas City Chiefs have made it pretty clear that they would like to have Kelce return to the team for another season, it sounds like he will be asked to take a rather significant pay cut if that happens.

Back in 2024, Kelce signed a two-year deal with the team worth $17.125 million per year that made him the highest-paid tight end in the league at the time. However, that two-year deal is expiring this offseason, which means that if Kelce returns to the Chiefs for another season, it will be under a new deal. And as Joel Corry of CBS Sports points out in his analysis of what Kelce would be worth if he decides to return, his salary under a new deal would almost certainly be considerably less than it was.

While Kelce is still one of the better and more productive tight ends in the league, finishing the 2025 season with 76 catches for 851 yards with five touchdowns – good for sixth in receptions and fourth in receiving yards among tight ends during the season – it's still clear that he is not the player he was a few years ago.

He might still be productive, but he's noticeably less explosive, and it shows up on the stat sheet as the legendary tight end is coming off the two least productive seasons of his entire career. If Kelce plays another season, he will be a year older and a year deeper into his physical decline.

It's not clear what Kelce would be paid should he decide to return to the Chiefs, but it will certainly be considerably less than he was being paid the past two seasons.

Other Lucrative Opportunities

In addition to what is expected to be a significantly lower salary for the 2026 season, electing to return to the league would also mean passing up some lucrative opportunities outside of football.

Over the past several years, Kelce has established a budding career for himself in the entertainment industry. He has already appeared as an actor in the FX series Grotesquerie as well as the recent Happy Gilmore sequel. Should he choose to retire, he would almost certainly have more opportunities.

In addition to these opportunities, Andrew Marchand of The Athleticreports that Kelce could step into a broadcasting career where he could command around $15 million as simply a studio analyst.

“Travis Kelce appears as if he will try to play another season before potentially trying broadcasting, where he would like to call games, but probably could pick up at least $15 million per year as a studio presence,” Marchand wrote for The Athletic.

Needless to say, it's pretty clear that Kelce would actually make more money should he choose to retire from the NFL than he would if he chose to play another season. It's not unlike Tom Brady, who now makes considerably more money as a broadcaster than he ever did during his playing career.

It's unlikely that will be the only factor in Kelce's decision, as he has made plenty of money throughout his career and will still make plenty of money should he return for another season. Still, this unique financial situation adds to what is already a difficult decision for the superstar tight end.

Why We Love This Deal

Nike makes really solid basic hoodies, but the good ones rarely drop below $50, particularly those with the brand’s performance tech. But that's exactly what's happening with Nike's Therma-Fit hoodies—they're now on sale for less than $40, and likely the biggest steal during the brand's pre-spring break sale.

The Nike Therma-Fit Hoodie is on sale for $39, a 40% discount off its full price of $65. They're listed at $49 on sale, but when you use the code GEARUP at checkout, it brings the price down to this sub-$40 mark. They’re available in sizes S to 2XL and come with a handful of tall size options as well, but the sale only lasts until Feb. 28, so get one while you still can.

What Shoppers Should Know

  • Type: Workout hoodie
  • Sizes: S to 2XL
  • Lengths: Regular, tall
  • Color: Black

These hoodies are built using Nike’s Therma-Fit tech, which regulates your body heat. While it is listed as a relaxed fit, numerous shoppers noted it runs a touch fitted, so grab your size accordingly. It also comes with front hand pockets and a handy zippered sleeve pocket for cards, cash, or your AirPods.

With a fitted cut, they also look great to wear for errands or on the weekends, plus they’re an ideal choice for chilly spring runs outdoors.

This Is Hands Down the Worst Food for Artery Health, Cardiologist Says

When we were younger, we would moan and groan at the vegetables on our dinner plates, failing to understand why we had to tolerate such nutrient-dense foods. But as we get older, we start to understand the consequences of poor dietary choices, with heart disease and clogged arteries being among the most serious. With doctors' appointments and blood work becoming more frequent with age, we quickly learn that certain foods seriously fuel arterial plaque buildup, raising your risk of heart attacks and making mindful dietary choices critical.

"Processed red meats such as bacon, sausage, and deli meats are among the foods most strongly associated with arterial plaque buildup," says Scott Dawson, M.D., cardiologist of Cooper and Inspira Cardiac Care. "These foods are high in saturated fat, often containing preservatives and sodium that adversely affect vascular health."

Not the gabagool! But alas, processed red meats accelerate plaque buildup by raising levels of ApoB-containing lipoproteins, including LDL ("bad") cholesterol. These particles are small enough to penetrate the inner lining of your arteries. Once LDL particles get stuck in the arterial wall, they become oxidized, triggering inflammation. The immune system sends macrophages to clean them up, forming "foam cells," which represent the earliest sign of plaque. Gradually, the buildup narrows arteries and can rupture, which is what causes most heart attacks.

Related: Cardiologist Reveals 2 Cholesterol Numbers Every Man Should Watch to Prevent Heart Attacks

"From a cardiovascular standpoint, the primary driver of plaque formation is not just dietary fat itself, but its effect on increasing circulating levels of atherogenic lipoproteins, particularly low-density lipoprotein (LDL) particles and apolipoprotein B (ApoB)," Dawson says. "It’s important to emphasize that plaque buildup is cumulative."

Along with saturated fat, processed meats also contain high levels of sodium and chemical preservatives. Such compounds, like nitrates and nitrites, can contribute to endothelial dysfunction, increased blood pressure, and oxidative stress—all of which accelerate vascular injury.

Related: This Is Hands Down the Worst Type of Meat for Gut Health, According to a Gastroenterologist

Foods That Cause Plaque Buildup

You can likely guess other common foods that cause plaque buildup: ultra-processed foods, fast food, fried foods, sugary beverages, and the like. They all share commonalities of being high in saturated fats, refined carbohydrates, added sugars, and sodium.

Beyond raising ApoB levels, these foods promote insulin resistance, visceral fat accumulation, chronic inflammation, and metabolic dysfunction. This accelerates the buildup of fats, cholesterol, and other substances in your artery walls.

"Regular consumption of foods that raise ApoB-containing lipoproteins accelerates this process, whereas diets that lower ApoB slow or even stabilize plaque progression," Dawson says.

Nancy Guthrie Family Took Important Reward Step, per Retired FBI Agent

On Tuesday morning, Today cohost Savannah Guthrie announced that she and her family were offering a $1 million reward for information on the whereabouts of her 84-year-old mother Nancy, who has been missing since Feb. 1.

In an interview with Fox News Digital, retired FBI agent Jason Pack theorized that this new monetary prize could have a significant impact on the case.

Reward causes 'psychological pressure'

Pack told Fox News Digital that the $1 million reward could test the loyalty of any accomplices to the suspected kidnapping, assuming more than one person was involved.

"It applies psychological pressure on any accomplices," he explained. "Ransom schemes involving multiple people are inherently unstable. The more time passes, the more the financial disparity between holding out and collecting $1 million starts eating at the weakest link. The message is: your partners are not going to protect you. We will. It preserves moral offramps."

Pack also called the seven-figure reward a "direct market disruption," since it is markedly higher than the $100,000 being offered by the FBI and $102,500 put forth by 88-Crime.

This makes it more likely that anyone with information could come forward, not just someone directly involved in the crime.

"By introducing a private family reward at $1 million, the Guthries just changed the calculus for anyone sitting on information: a driver who saw something, an accomplice having second thoughts, a family member of the suspect weighing loyalty against a million dollars. That is a number that can fracture criminal conspiracies," Pack said.

Guthrie family 'still believe' Nancy can be found

In an emotional video shared on Instagram Tuesday, Savannah Guthrie revealed her family's reward offering and also pleaded for the public's help.

“So please, if you hear this message. If you’ve been waiting and you haven’t been sure. Let this be your sign. To please come forward. Tell what you know. And help us bring our beloved mom home. So that we can either celebrate a glorious, miraculous homecoming. Or celebrate the beautiful, brave, and courageous, and noble life that she has lived. Please be the light in the dark. Thank you," she said.

In another part of her message, Savannah sadly admitted her family is aware Nancy "may already be gone" but are still "blowing on the embers of hope" that the case will have a happy ending.

Walmart Is Selling Hoodies for $4—No, That's Not a Typo

Men’s Journal aims to feature only the best products and services.  If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.

In This Story

Why We Love This Deal

When was the last time you saw a hoodie sell for less than $10? A price tag that low is suspect enough, but a $4 one is downright bewildering. When decent-quality sweatpants cost as low as $8, the possibility of a $4 hoodie seems less like a fantasy. However, that's exactly what's happening over at Walmart right now, albeit with some small caveats.

The Sovlvnd Casual Long Sleeve Hoodie typically sells for $14, but you can shop it at Walmart for as low as $4 (up to the premium price of $6) with this limited-time flash sale. This hoodie costs less than your last Starbucks run, but it's got plenty of use cases, especially if you're into screen printing or if you're the type who loves hoarding hoodies. No judgments.

What Shoppers Should Know

  • Materials: Polyester
  • Colors: 24
  • Sizes: Small to 3XL
  • Best For: Last-minute gifting, altering, screen printing, and more

This is a standard, no-frills hoodie. It's not waterproof, insulating, or made from some patented fabric that makes it stand out in a crowded category. It is, however, available in 24 different colors, a wide array of sizes, and has both a drawstring hood and a wide front pocket that's roomy enough for everyday essentials or simply keeping your hands warm.

While it's great for layering in winter, it's light enough to wear during warmer times of the year because the polyester fabric is lighter than higher-priced offerings. Whether this is a feature or a bug depends on whether you're the type who loves wearing hoodies no matter what the season is.

That said, this hoodie is still totally machine washable, so caring for this affordable entry won't be any trickier than caring for much more expensive coats. It's so hard not to love its price, which is fantastic for printing, stretching your dollar for bulk charitable donations, or just keeping on hand as last-minute gifts. While the army green hoodie is available for the lowest price, many other colors have comparable discounts.

Related: These Are the 6 Best Hoodies Under $25 You Can Get Online From Adidas, Champion, and More

What Shoppers Are Saying

Now come the caveats. Its 3.7-star rating at Walmart already makes this hoodie suspect, considering it's a below-average rating. Even many who left a 5-star rating recommended buying a size or two larger, as it will likely shrink just a bit in the wash. That aside, shoppers were pleasantly surprised by the fabric of this $4 hoodie, calling it "soft, warm, and cozy" and saying they're "happy with the quality and fit."

One more caveat is that this hoodie also includes $6 shipping, which brings the cost up to $10, which is, frankly, still mighty attractive. The Sovlvnd Casual Long Sleeve Hoodie is on sale at Walmart for just $4, but don't expect this flash sale to last much longer, considering its unbelievably low price.

NBA Star Tyrese Haliburton Diagnosed With Shingles

The current NBA season has been a difficult one for point guard Tyrese Haliburton and the Indiana Pacers. Haliburton's Achilles injury at the end of last year's NBA Finals has kept him out for the entirety of the year, and the Pacers currently have the worst record in the Eastern Conference at 15-43.

Haliburton is staying on the sideline until the 2026-27 season, but even he isn't able to avoid the poor fortune that has affected his team this year.

The All-Star guard was recently diagnosed with shingles, and he'll need to stay away from his teammates for a number of weeks while he recovers.

Pacers Head Coach Confirms Star's Diagnosis

"It's a very painful thing," said Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle, who confirmed his player's diagnosis on Sunday evening. The Pacers played two games against the Washington Wizards on the road before heading back home to face the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday afternoon.

"He will make a full recovery, but this happened over the last few days," Carlisle added.

"He was meeting us in D.C. and had some odd symptoms and he came back here. That's what's happening with him. We certainly wish him a speedy recovery. It's a unique case and a unique situation, but I talked to him a few times and he's always in a good mood, so he'll get through it."

Shingles is caused by the same virus that causes chicken pox, and the two ailments produce similar symptoms. Itch and rash in concentrated areas of the body are common, with blisters typically developing afterwards.

Those suffering from shingles can also experience fever, headaches, sensitivity to light and fatigue.

Haliburton helped lead the Pacers to the NBA Finals last season, the franchise's first appearance in the championship round since 2000. During the playoffs, the former Iowa State point guard hit several clutch shots to lead the team to victory, putting together one of the most impressive playoff runs in recent memory.

Indiana defeated the Milwaukee Bucks, Cleveland Cavaliers and New York Knicks in the postseason, as Haliburton dueled against superstars like Jalen Brunson, Donovan Mitchell and Giannis Antetokounmpo. He nearly led the team to its first NBA title, pushing the eventual champion Oklahoma City Thunder to a decisive seventh game in the Finals.

Haliburton's Devastating Injury And Future Outlook

Haliburton tore his Achilles in the first quarter of that Game 7, a devastating injury that effectively ended Indiana's championship hopes. Haliburton will attempt to return next season, and the Pacers will look to show that this year's record is simply an aberration without the All-Star guard.

"My journey to get to where I am today wasn’t by happenstance, I’ve pushed myself every day to be great. And I will continue to do just that. The most important part of this all, is that I’m grateful," Haliburton said in a statement after undergoing surgery.

"I’m grateful for every single experience that’s led me here. I’m grateful for all the love from the hoop world. I don’t 'have to' go through this, I get to go through this. I’m grateful for the road that lies ahead. Watch how I come back from this. So, give me some time, I’ll dust myself off and get right back to being the best version of Tyrese Haliburton."

You can buy tickets from a third-party reseller site, such as Vivid SeatsSeatGeek, and TicketNetwork. The mentioned sites do offer discount codes to help you save when buying concert passes.

  • Vivid Seats offers $30 off purchases over $200 with the code ADVANCE30

Chiefs Star Hollywood Brown Shares Rondale Moore Texts After Tragic Death

Marquise "Hollywood" Brown, the wide receiver for the Kansas City Chiefs, revealed on X that he communicated with Minnesota Vikings receiver Rondale Moore shortly before Moore's tragic death.

Although his official cause of death is still under investigation and pending an autopsy, the police chief told reporters that authorities suspect Moore, 25, shot himself in his garage on February 21. That unleashed a torrent of heartbreaking posts from Brown.

"Bro ain’t no way brotha you just messaged me few hours ago," Brown wrote in one of the string of distressing posts. Brown and Moore previously played together on the Arizona Cardinals. Brown later moved on to the Chiefs, and Moore signed with the Atlanta Falcons before joining the Vikings. Moore suffered devastating knee injuries twice.

Hollywood Brown Addressed Rondale Moore in a Heartbreaking Message

In one of his posts, Brown communicated directly with the now-deceased Moore. "You wasn’t alone bro.. I told you I know how you feel," he wrote on February 21 as news broke of Moore's death.

Brown posted text messages between him and Moore from July and August. In those text messages, they discussed injuries.

According to NBC News, Moore "dislocated his right knee during training camp" for the Atlanta Falcons in 2024 and didn't see any playing time as a result. The Minnesota Vikings signed him in 2025, but he "blew out his left knee while returning a punt in their first exhibition game and spent another full season on injured reserve."

Moore "was so distraught after immediately realizing the seriousness of that injury that he slammed his hand down on a cart so hard the sound was audible throughout the stadium," NBC News reported. In the text messages, Brown urged Moore not to give up despite the injuries.

"Love you bro. I always wanted to speak life into you fam," he wrote.

Brown also shared posts written by other NFL players, including Raheem Mostert, who wrote, "Rest easy lil bro.. Rondale you were special." He shared a post by Las Vegas Raiders linebacker Jamal Adams, who shared a post from another page about one of Moore's knee injuries.

"I’m not jumping to conclusions, but let me say this. Fans and media be quick to label a player 'injury prone.' We don’t choose to get hurt… sometimes s*** just happens. Y’all don’t see the rehab, the pain, the mental drain it causes," Adams wrote.

"That process can make you lose yourself. This s*** is real. No matter how much support you get, you still gotta fight that battle alone. Prayers up for Rondale Moore and his family. He was a baller, no question."

JJ Watt also offered a tribute to Moore. "Can’t even begin to fathom or process this. There’s just no way. Way too soon. Way too special. So much left to give. Rest in Peace Rondale," Watt wrote on X.

Actor Eric Dane's wife Rebecca Gayheart shared a message to fans and supporters Sunday, three days after Dane's death at 53 due to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).

Dane and Gayheart wed in 2004 and were married for over 13 years before she filed for divorce in February 2018. In March 2025, Gayheart filed to dismiss the divorce after seven years of separation due to Dane's ongoing illness.

'There aren't enough words...'

On her Instagram story, Gayheart shared a picture of several framed photos of herself, Dane and their children, along with some words for those who have her family's back right now.

"I am so blown away by the outpouring of love and support," she wrote. "There aren’t words to express our gratitude. You are truly holding us up during this difficult time.”

When Dane passed away Thursday afternoon, he was surrounded by Gayheart, their daughters Billie and Georgia and others friends, according to a statement shared by the family.

"Throughout his journey with ALS, Eric became a passionate advocate for awareness and research, determined to make a difference for others facing the same fight," the message said in part.

"He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always. Eric adored his fans and is forever grateful for the outpouring of love and support he’s received. The family has asked for privacy as they navigate this impossible time.”

Dane sends final message to daughters

Months before his death, Dane recorded his final words as part of Netflix's Famous Last Words series, with the episode released upon his death.

At the end of the special, Dane shared his last message to his daughters, Billie, 16, and Georgia, 14.

"Billie and Georgia, these words are for you," he began. "I tried. I stumbled sometimes, but I tried. Overall, we had a blast, didn’t we?

"I see you now playing in the ocean for hours, my water babies. Those days, pun intended, were heaven. I want to tell you four things I’ve learned from this disease, and I hope you don’t just listen to me. I hope you’ll hear me."

Dane also urged his children to "cherish every moment," find love in their lives and "find your people and allow them to find you."

Netflix Has Quietly Canceled Four Shows This Year

Netflix is the most popular streaming platform in the world, thanks in large part to its massive library of original shows, series, movies, specials, and documentaries. However, the unfortunate reality is that not all of those originals are successful.

With such a massive number of originals, Netflix often has to make some hard decisions regarding the future of some fan-favorite shows. Unfortunately, for many fans, those difficult decisions have led Netflix to cancel four of its original shows this year alone.

Alice in Borderland

Alice in Borderland is a Japanese dystopian thriller based on the manga by Haro Aso. It follows a gamer and his friends after they are transported to an abandoned, parallel Tokyo and forced to compete in dangerous, sadistic games in order to survive.

The series emerged as a fan-favorite show through the first two seasons and racked up 25 million views in its third season. However, it will not continue.

While Netflix never officially confirmed that Season 3 was the final season before its release, fans of the show received some disappointing news in the streaming giant’s “What We Watched: The Second Half of 2025” engagement report as Netflix announced that the third season was indeed the final season, quietly canceling the show.

The Abandons

Following the success of Yellowstone, many streaming services tried their hand at Western-style shows. The Abandons marked Netflix's attempt at the genre, following two rival matriarchs battling for supremacy in 1850’s Washington.

However, despite a surge in interest shortly after its release, the show will not receive a second season. After a drastic drop-off in viewership and some very unfavorable critical reviews, Netflix announced the show's cancellation just a month after it originally premiered.

The Vince Staples Show

While The Vince Staples Show was a critical success through its first two seasons, the show will not be returning for a third season.

The show is a surreal, semi-autobiographical comedy-drama that follows a fictionalized, slightly famous version of rapper Vince Staples navigating daily life. While it was a hit with critics, earning a 94% score on Rotten Tomatoes, it was quietly canceled by Netflix this year.

The decision was likely linked to its relatively low viewership numbers, as Deadline reported that the show never charted on Netflix’s Weekly Top 10 and that it ranked just No. 1,446 on Netflix’s Second Half of 2025 viewership.

Terminator: Zero

Set in 1997 Tokyo, Terminator: Zero followed a soldier named Eiko who was sent from 2022 to protect Malcolm Lee, a scientist developing "Kokoro," an AI intended to rival Skynet.

The show was a hit with fans and critics who had been clamoring for more since it was released back in 2024. However, creator Mattson Tomlin confirmed last week that the show had been quietly canceled by Netflix due to poor viewership.

"It was cancelled. The critical and audience reception to it was tremendous, but at the end of the day, not nearly enough people watched it. I would’ve loved to deliver on the Future War I had planned in seasons 2 and 3, but I’m also very happy with how it feels contained as is,” he wrote in a post on X.

More Shows Ending

While these shows were canceled rather unceremoniously, there are a few other beloved Netflix series that will be coming to a planned end in 2026.

In addition to these four shows, Netflix has announced that several more shows will officially end in 2026. Unlike these series, however, they will receive much more official endings with their stories completed.

BMW's Fastest Cars Won't Use A Manual Transmission For Much Longer

For so many car enthusiasts, driving a car with a manual transmission is a distillation of their passions for all things automotive. Remove the human element, and the facts are pretty simple: stick shifts are slower, less economical, and more difficult to use than automatic transmissions. Moreover, they're hard to justify in today's automotive climate for a litany of reasons, as BMW M's CEO, Frank van Meel, points out. According to van Meel, there simply won't be a way to justify them soon.

van Meel: Another manual will be "quite difficult"

BMW

Speaking to CarSales, van Meel told the outlet that at least from an engineering standpoint, the stick shift just "doesn't really make sense." He assured listeners the brand will try its hardest to keep the manual around for a few more years, but beyond that, things get tough. "From an engineering standpoint, the manual doesn’t really make sense because it limits you in torque and also in fuel consumption," said Van Meel.

"It’s going to be quite difficult in the future to develop completely new gearboxes because the segment in the market is quite small, and the suppliers are not so keen on doing something like that," he continued. "So we’re still happy with the manuals we have and we plan to keep them for the next couple of years, but in future, probably it’s going to be more difficult to keep the manuals alive, especially in the next decade."

Time and technology are the killers of the manual transmission

BMW

Frankly, hardcore stick shift users couldn't care less about reduced power outputs; stick shifts have long been inferior to today's automatics. Emissions, though, are another matter entirely. The US may be well on its way to removing just about every major emissions standard for production vehicles, which could mean stick shifts continue here, but brands that make cars for numerous markets, as BMW does, have to meet much broader global emissions standards to maximize the number of markets they can sell cars in. It's a simple case of the most stringent emissions requirements, usually coming out of the EU, meaning the end of the inefficient manual transmission.

The end of the manual will be twofold, as well. This isn't a skill that people need today. Most cars now use automatic transmissions, and no one wants to work a clutch in traffic. Take rates might be high for models like the M2 (more than 50%, in fact), but those people are largely Millennials or older. The next generation of car enthusiasts likely won't grow up around a manual-powered car, either because it's been legislated away or because the odds are simply stacked against them as the number of available stick shift cars on the market dwindles.

Why We Love This Deal

There will be times when a handy spotlight is best for what you're doing, while other tasks require a broader floodlight. For those in between moments, having something that can do both just may be the answer. That’s exactly what you get with Walmart’s bestselling Fixdono LED combo. It comes packed with 5,000 lumens of power, has both kinds of lights on either side of it, and it's now on sale for only $20 for a limited time.

Fixdono’s 5,000-Lumen Rechargeable LED Spotlight Floodlight Combo is now over 40% off at Walmart. What Shoppers Should Know

  • Listed Lumens: 5,000
  • Spotlight Lighting: LED L2 Bulb
  • Beam Throw Distance (Listed): 800 yards
  • Floodlight Lighting: 45 LED lamp beads
  • Lithium Ion Battery: Rechargeable 85,000mAh
  • Size: 7-by-3.94-by-3.54 inches
  • Weight: 1.5 pounds
  • Lighting Modes: High, medium, low, red/blue strobe

The dual-light setup is the clear winner, with a focused L2 spotlight rated at up to 5,000 lumens and capable of reaching up to 800 yards, while the floodlight handles close-range tasks with its 45-LED side panel. This flashlight can be a lifesaver in a pinch, with its rechargeable 5,000 mAh battery that provides 2 to 4 hours of runtime (depending on mode) and can power dead phones. It has low, medium, and high brightness modes plus has a red/blue SOS mode too. Its durable ABS build is quite tough, and though it's only 7-by-3.94-by-3.54 inches (about the size of a large cordless drill head with handle), it's quite bright given its more compact nature. Additionally, it has a tripod mount on the bottom if you plan to use it with a tripod.

Its claim to throw a beam up to 800 yards may be a bit of a stretch given its size, but those who have used it in pitch-black woods claim it lights up well into the distance. Many note that it easily lights up tree lines, open backyards, and long driveways. This means taking it along for campsites or down rural roads at dusk is easily handled with this unit.

If there's one underrated feature here, it's the emergency backup power bank capacity via its USB-A plug-in capabilities. If power is lost during a storm or camping trip, this can easily top off any phone or radio, and you can even set it to the SOS mode, too.

What Buyers Are Saying

Overall, shoppers are loving how handy this dual combo flashlight is, and many felt it's more than worth its minimal cost. One reviewer said the brightness is great, and the fact that it is rechargeable is a plus. ”Perfect for keeping in my vehicle in the event of an emergency,” they said.

Another said this “handy light” is great for home, work, and camping. They said it “lasts for hours” and can charge a cell phone via USB.

In terms of cost and performance, this Fixdono dual spotlight-floodlight is among the best we've seen lately, given all that’s packed into its compact design. It's a small $20 investment that easily pays for itself, and you’ll be glad you did if unexpected situations do arise.
