In addition to 3D movie screenings, and sometimes 4D screenings in which seats will move and specific smells will fill the air, some films are now experimenting with "5D" screenings. And that means, if you go to one specific screening, things will be thrown on you that can stain your clothes.
This sounds nuts, and perhaps a bit like a Gallagher show from the 1980s, but for one (free) promotional screenings of Captain America: Brave New World, audience members will literally have various substances thrown at them, which will almost certainly stain their clothes. But don't worry! This is just a promotional tie-in with detergent brand, Tide, who will be on hand for these screenings to make sure audience members can get unstained.
Tide and Marvel are calling these "Collateral Stains"; the idea being that in MCU-type action scenes, real people would likely get covered with dirt, coffee, or even guacamole. And so, if you're interested in messily immersing yourself into Captain America: Brave New World, the limited 5D screenings will allow you to get super dirty. (And perhaps relive your dreams of being on Nickelodeon in the 90s?)
There is one Tide/Marvel "Collateral Stains" screening of Captain America: Brave New World in New York City on February 13, one day before the movie hits theaters. You can find details about how to get messy at this screening right here.
