One bizarre terminology we recently came across is 'almond mom'. Yes, you guessed it right! It has something to do with almonds, diet regime and the mothers. Now you must be wondering, where did this term 'almond mom' come from! It finds its roots in a clip of the popular reality show 'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.' In one of the episodes, you can find a diet-related conversation between Yolanda Hadid and her now-supermodel (then-teenage) daughter Gigi Hadid. When Gigi tells her mother, "I'm feeling really weak. I had, like, half an almond," Yolanda replies "Have a couple of almonds, and chew them really well." And this is what gave birth to the word almond mom'.

As per health experts, 'almond mom' is a phenomenon where mothers go through 'fatphobia' and creates an unhealthy relationship with food. Reportedly, this term was coined by a website called Self, where people get extra conscious about what you eat and feels guilty for feeling hungry.

Some of the most commonly used 'almond mom' phrases are - "Once past the lips, forever on the hips", "Are you sure you want to eat that?", "You're not hungry, you're bored" and more.

As per multiple media outlets, the term 'almond mom' has yet again gone viral, and social media platforms are running campaign against the phenomenon under the (hashtag) #AlmondMom. People are now raising their voice against the syndrome to help create a healthy relation between food and people.
