There’s a certain value imbued in anything that’s crafted by expert hands. It has to do with the transfer of experience and aesthetics; the craftsperson’s pride becomes the user’s. But while microbreweries and local coffee roasters have flourished in recent years, so many outdoor brands have shifted to mass production, rendered impersonal by acquisition and merger.
