Check out what coconut butter has to offer,

1) Helps in weight loss

Healthy fats (medium-chain fatty acid) that are found in coconut butter help in weight loss but this does not mean that you start over eating it! A little amount of it on a regular basis is good enough. Coconut butter also helps in boosting metabolism, increasing calorie burn and improving energy levels.

2) Improves immunity

Coconut butter contains lauric acid which is great to boost immunity. It also treats viral infections such as a cold, flu, cold sores and warts. The presence of medium-chain fatty acids in coconut butter prevents or treats diseases such as osteoporosis, diabetes, gallbladder disease and Crohn’s disease.

3) Great for athletes

As this butter has medium-chain fatty acids, they are absorbed by the body more rapidly.  This way it provides a great source or energy for athletes. MCTs (medium-chain triglycerides) are converted into fuel that is available for muscles to use. Not only for athletes, coconut butter is a great source of energy for dieters also.

4) Good source of fibre

If your diet lacks fibre, you can get it from coconut butter as it falls in the category of high-fibre food. It helps in reducing your levels of cholesterol and keeps your bowel movements regular. Fibre also helps in controlling blood sugar levels.

Daily fibre recommendations

  • Men 50 and below : 38 grams
  • Men 51 and above: 30 grams
  • Women 50 and below: 25 grams
  • Women 51 and above: 21 grams

You need to make sure that you get sufficient amount of fiber to stay healthy.

Coconut butter is a wonderful source of fiber for those trying to lose weight on a low carbohydrate or Keto diet.

5) Good source of iron

Do you know that coconut butter provides you with 5% of the RDA of iron? This is not provided by coconut oil, this is one reason why you should think of adding the butter of coconut meat in your diet especially if you are a woman. A lot of women are deficient in iron and when consuming coconut butter can be of help, you should go for it! Young women tend to have anemia, a condition in which they have a deficiency of iron. It is much prevalent in India.

Iron is essential for developing healthy red blood cells. Without iron, it is not possible for your body to get sufficient amount of oxygen. When there is lack of oxygen, you may feel exhausted even when you are fit and fine. Lack of oxygen affects the functioning of the brain along with affecting hair, skin and nail health.

Lack of iron in body leads to a lethargic and weak body with very low energy levels resulting in lack of exercise and no weight loss or increased weight.
