Neena Gupta's Sunday Breakfast Features Delicious Indori Style Poha And Jalebis

Neena Gupta's foodie posts always resonate with food lovers, and her latest one is no exception. The veteran actress shared a hilariously relatable foodie moment on her Instagram Stories. We have all had those days when we crave sweets but try to avoid them due to their calorie count, right? Well, Neena Gupta is no different. In the video, she showcases her plate of Indori style poha, a breakfast favourite. The poha is perfectly cooked, garnished with bay leaves, roasted peanuts, finely chopped onions and sev – a true delight for food enthusiasts. However, sitting a little apart from the poha plate are two irresistible jalebis.

Neena humorously admits that while she has kept them at a distance to avoid eating them, she will “ultimately eat them.” With her signature wit, Neena Gupta says, “Indori style poha. Jalebi dur rakhi hai ki nahi khaungi. Par ultimately khaungi. [I have kept the jalebi away so that I would not eat it. But ultimately, I will.] Very bad girl.” The jalebis, golden and tempting, add the perfect twist to her morning indulgence. Too delicious to resist, would not you agree?

A few days ago, Neena Gupta delighted her Instagram followers by sharing a glimpse of her wholesome breakfast: a delicious jowar aata paratha stuffed with mashed paneer. The paratha was topped with onions, greens and a generous dollop of butter – absolutely drool-worthy! She paired it with green chutney and what appeared to be a pickle. Her caption read, "Jowar aata, paneer, onion, and greens." For those unfamiliar, jowar aata (sorghum flour) is a nutritional powerhouse – high in fiber, gluten-free and rich in protein. With winter here, there is nothing quite as comforting as indulging in crispy, flavourful parathas. Click here for the full story.

Earlier, Neena Gupta shared another breakfast post that had everyone intrigued. This time, it was a close-up of a bowl featuring hard-boiled eggs paired with what seemed to be poha. To add a flavourful twist, she topped it with pepper, sev, chopped onions and green chilies for an extra kick. If you are looking for breakfast inspiration, this creative and wholesome combination is a perfect idea. Starting the day with something both tasty and healthy is always a win. Neena Gupta captioned the post simply as, "Bfast (Breakfast)." Full story here.

10 Best Sandwich Spots To Visit In Chennai

There's a scene in the 2022 Kamal Hassan blockbuster that pays tribute to one of the city's most popular street snacks. Most Chennaites still call it the 'Alsa Mall' sandwich, that makes a reference to the location where this humble sandwich first took wings in the 1990s. More than thirty years later, it still dominates discussions and nostalgia about sandwiches in the city. Like most other Indian metros, Chennai's sandwich scene has also evolved with hipster favourites like avocado on toast and pesto sandwiches in the mix.

Also Read: 5 Tips To Perfect The Art Of Making Tea Sandwiches

Chennai's first brush with high quality sandwiches probably began in the colonial era clubs of what was then Madras. Clubs like the Madras Club (also known as the Ace of Clubs) and the Madras Gymkhana Club still make exceptional sandwiches that transport you back to the British Raj when cucumber sandwiches were part of the high tea ritual. Some of these colonial era sandwiches began to make it to Chennai's first wave of 'fast food' joints in the 1980s and 90s. Most old-timers still have fond memories of the chicken sandwiches at Cakes N Bakes - white bread, slathered with butter and stuffed with chicken. What's not to like? All-day diners (or coffee shops) at luxury hotels became the other 'go to' spot with their filling, club sandwiches.

Most of these sandwiches including the Alsa Mall Sandwich and the hotel sandwiches have survived, while a growing band of cafes have aced their sandwiches with extra emphasis on the quality of bread. From sour dough breads to multi grain sandwiches, Chennai's sandwich fans are spoilt for choice. Like they say, a good sandwich is more than just a sum of its parts:

1. Balaji Sandwich Stall

Typifies the 'Alsa Mall' sandwich that is deep rooted in Chennai's Street food culture. Their bestseller is a simple bread omelette sandwich with their signature green chutney. Their extensive menu features more than 50 sandwiches but most regulars still lean on their popular egg or vegetable sandwiches with chutney.

Montieth Road, Egmore

2. Shree Mithai

If you're looking for Chennai's most popular grilled vegetarian sandwich, there's a good chance you will land up at one Shree Mithai's multiple outlets. Fresh bread is slathered with butter and filled with an assortment of fillings that range from cheese to paneer to jam. But it's the Bombay sandwich with potato and green chutney that is our pick.

TV Road, Chetpet

3. Anise, Taj Coromandel

Most of the all-day diners in the city's luxury hotels have upped their sandwich game, Anise is a case in point. Their Tomato, Bocconcini, and Sourdough Bread Sandwich is enhanced by the fresh heirloom tomatoes and complemented by rich, creamy Bocconcini cheese, filled with shredded stracciatella and cream.

4. Dou

Formerly Sowl, Dou is pitched as a fine bakehouse and brew room experience. Aside from their large plates, Dou also offers a delectable selection of sandwiches and open toast that includes a delish version of avocado toast (no surprises here) and Bombay Talkies that pays tribute to the quintessential Bombay-style sandwich.

Cenotaph Road, Second Lane

5. Sandy's Chocolate Laboratory

Decadent, that's one word that comes to mind when we think about the Three Cheese Melt Sandwich, that's a crowd favourite at Sandy's. If you're more of a fried chicken fan, then their Louisiana-style Fried Chicken sandwich is a fail-proof option.

First Main Road, RA Puram

6. The Brew Room

A popular spot for coffee, conversations and of course, sandwiches. Regulars swear by Brew Room's Barbeque Chicken Sandwich that has been on the menu almost since its inception and has stood the test of time. This signature sandwich is crafted with house-made focaccia and their secret barbeque sauce.

7. Royal Sandwich

There's nothing royal about the prices at one of Chennai's most popular home-grown restaurant chains. What started as a tiny eatery on TTK Road has expanded across the city with an exhaustive menu of sandwiches. There's something for everyone here with everything from panini sandwiches to gobi sandwiches on the menu.

TTK Road, Alwarpet

8. Pumpkin Tales

This standalone, all-day restaurant is one of our favourite spots for breakfast. The restaurant offers sandwich options for breakfast (that include an avocado and mushroom on buttered sourdough) as well as a fine selection of Italian sandwiches for those any time meals. The Pepperoni sandwich and their Panuozzo sandwich with pulled pizza dough are both terrific.

Bheemana Garden Street, Alwarpet

9. Trattoria by Toscano:

Offers a great choice of gourmet Italian sandwiches. Our favourites include the Grilled Veggies and Hummus Sandwich, the Smoked Salmon, Cream Cheese and Capers sandwich and their popular Pesto Grilled Chicken and Fried Egg Sandwich.

Khader Nawaz Khan Road

10. Brod Bakery

A popular pit-stop for Chennai's gourmands, this intimate bakery is well known for its Basque Cheesecake. But it's the sandwiches that bring most regulars back. It's tough to pick a winner from their chicken pesto or their BLT or the smoked mozzarella and arugula.

East Coast Road, Injambakkam

I've Tried Hundreds of Expensive Whiskeys, but I Always Reach for This Affordable Bourbon

I’ve spent almost two decades tasting and writing about alcohol. When it comes to spirits, I’ve likely sampled bourbon more than any other form of alcohol, with single malt Scotch whisky being a close second.

So, saying that I’ve enjoyed hundreds—if not thousands—of bourbons over the years is a pretty accurate statement. In that time, I’ve tried some ridiculously expensive, knock-your-socks-off rare expressions. It’s simply part of the job.

But I’ve also spent a long time imbibing inexpensive but high-quality whiskey. I’m talking about $20 bottles as opposed to bottles selling on the secondary market for thousands of dollars. And when I tell you that there’s a bargain-priced expression from one of the most well-known bourbon brands of all time that you need to stock on your home bar immediately, you can believe me or not. That’s up to you.

That said, few names in the bourbon world are more prominent than Jim Beam. This iconic brand has been crafting award-winning, noteworthy whiskeys since it released its first whiskey in 1795. Fred Noe and his son Freddie are the eighth and ninth generation master distillers at Jim Beam, which makes it a historic family brand.

You can’t go wrong with one of Jim Beam's classics, like Jim Beam White Label, Jim Beam Double Oak, Jim Beam Single Barrel, or one of the company's other brands like Knob Creek, Basil Hayden, or Old Grand-Dad. But the expression I always stock on my home bar is Jim Beam Black.

When it was first introduced in 1978, this expression was referred to as “Double Aged.” The moniker referred to the fact that this expression matured twice as long as the classic Jim Beam White Label, which is aged for four years. The new expression matured for eight years.

Jim Beam Black was recently upgraded. Now, it's better than ever.

Courtesy Image

The current iteration, which was recently relaunched, is matured for seven years in heavily charred new American oak barrels. It was made with a mash bill of 77 percent corn, 13 percent rye, and 10 percent malted barley. It’s known for its complex, nuanced flavor profile with magnified aromas and flavors compared to the classic expression.

The result is a memorable mellow whiskey that begins with a nose of raisins, toasted vanilla beans, butterscotch, charred wood, and gentle spices. Sipping it reveals a mix of sticky toffee, cinnamon, candied orange peels, dark chocolate, cracked black pepper, toasted vanilla beans, dried fruits, and oaky wood. The finish warms and lingers, melding notes of candied nuts, vanilla, and wintry spices.

The best part? This complex, 7-year-old Kentucky straight bourbon is incredibly inexpensive. In a world of overpriced whiskey, the suggested retail price for Jim Beam Black is only $25. When it comes to price-to-value ratio, this is one of the best bargains in the bourbon world. This alone makes it a must-have whiskey for your home bar cart or liquor cabinet.

But, regardless of the price, I’d never refer to this as a “cheap” whiskey. That diminishes and undermines the quality of this release. It’s a highly versatile expression for half the price of comparable expressions. It’s the kind of bottle you’ll buy one time and then never want to be without.

You’ll have a tough time finding a better value sipper for the price. You’ll have no problem drinking it neat or on the rocks. It’s also an excellent base for your favorite whiskey cocktails. Its rich, memorable flavor palate won’t get lost in the shuffle in any cocktail. Try it in an old fashioned, whiskey sour, Manhattan, Sazerac, and beyond. You’ll be pleased you did.

Walmart Is Selling a 55-Inch Hisense Smart TV for $178 Right Now, and Shoppers Say It's 'Crisp, Clear, and Sharp'

Men’s Journal aims to feature only the best products and services.  If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.

Black Friday is a great day to shop for everything from beard trimmers to dumbbells, but the most fun and—let’s be honest—most useful home upgrade you can snag is almost certainly a new smart TV. The best deal we’ve seen? A big, sharp 4K TV at Walmart that runs on Roku for less than $200—and it's selling by the thousands.

The Hisense 55-Inch Class R6 Series 4K UHD Roku Smart TV is just $178 today, $100 off its normal and already eminently reasonable price tag of $278. This model has garnered an impressive 4.7-star average after more than 5,300 five-star ratings, with customers calling it “so crisp, clear, and sharp” and “great for the price.”

Hisense 55-Inch Class R6 Series 4K UHD Roku Smart TV, $178 (was $278) at Walmart

Courtesy of Walmart

GET IT

This TV is squarely within the budget category, but the reality is that the technological advantages of high-end sets simply aren’t worth it for most people. This model has all of the requisite tech from Dolby and DTS for high-quality picture and sound, Roku’s beloved software that makes purchasing an additional streaming device unnecessary, and a bezel-less design that makes it look much more expensive than it is. It’s compatible with Apple, Google, and Amazon smart home ecosystems, and can easily be controlled with the simple included remote or the more powerful Roku app.

Related: Walmart Is Selling a $330 Dolby Atmos Sound Bar for $119 This Black Friday, and Shoppers Say It 'Really Rocks'

“The TV itself is a great value for the price,” one reviewer said. “The picture quality is fantastic…sharp, vibrant, and really pops in 4K. Roku's smart platform is super easy to use, and all the main streaming apps are right there.” While they do acknowledge that a soundbar would be a nice upgrade—and when wouldn’t it be when compared to a modern TV’s onboard speakers?—overall, they’d “definitely recommend it if you're looking for a solid 4K smart TV without breaking the bank.”

Even with the prices for 4K TVs dropping left and right, $178 for the Hisense 55-Inch Class R6 Series 4K UHD Roku Smart TV is a deal that stands out. This TV is already flying off the shelves, so if you’re interested in upgrading your home entertainment system before the Christmas movie and playoff football season, pounce on this deal ASAP.

Swaad by Ishaara: An Ode To India's Culinary Heritage

Latest and Breaking News on NDTV

Ishaara is hosting an exclusive pop-up this November that food enthusiasts shouldn't miss. We had the chance to attend a preview dinner for Swaad by Ishaara, a 7-course dining experience curated by celebrated culinary expert Rushina Munshaw Ghildiyal. Each course is rooted in specific ingredients, flavours or a sense of taste, evoking the rich histories of how food has evolved over centuries. Chef Rushina spotlights lesser-known delights, through foraged ingredients and ancient recipes that are given amazing twists. Our meal begins with "Katu" (Bitter/Astringent), a course that features a restorative broth made more delicious with the seasonal addition of fresh turmeric. Next is Namak (Salt), spotlighting Patra Shaka, Australian Salt Bush, and Uttarakhand's Pisyoon Loon. It is served with Chef Rushina's two signature types of salt that we proceeded to pair with every dish that came later! The Khatai (Sour) course - one of our favourites - showed us just how diverse tanginess can be through the yumminess of Gondhoraj butter, Australian lemon myrtle, and Ladakhi Seabuckthorn with Apricot Chutney. It was followed by the Mirch (Spice) course, featuring the long pepper (Pipali) and the fiery Naga chilli served with a barnyard millet porridge from Uttarakhand.

The Tadka course, while celebrating the art of tempering, also gave us the chance to taste the enriching earthiness of Pahadi-style wild tubers. The mains in Svada are inspired by recipes from the Pakadarpana of Nala, a legendary Indian treatise on cooking. The sweet finale - Sugandha - was a lip-smacking one. The layers of kurmura chikki, malai and gajak are a reference to offerings mentioned in the Ramayana, nodding to tradition in a beautiful way. Each element of every course has been not cooked with passion, but also sourced in ways that pay homage to their origins. This is a meal we're not going to forget for a long time and we highly recommend you experience it while you still have the chance.  -- Toshita Sahni

REI Is Selling a $300 Down Sleeping Bag for $180 Right Now, and Even Picky Sleepers Say It Has 'Plenty of Room'

Men’s Journal aims to feature only the best products and services.  If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.

REI doesn't host a Black Friday sale—instead, the retailer encourages shoppers to get outside and explore local nature. Despite that, REI recently packed its sale section with incredible deals on Arc'teryx jackets, Prana hiking pants, and a ton of Garmin smartwatches. But one of the coziest deals—just in time for chillier-weather camping—is on one of Nemo's down sleeping bags that provides a ton of warmth and stuffs down into a small package.

Nemo’s Disco 15 Endless Promise Down Sleeping Bag is on sale for just $180 at REI—a substantial 40% off of the regular price of $300. This roomy and warm down sleeping bag has earned nearly 50 five-star ratings from customers who say that it has “plenty of room” but is still “compact,” allowing it to “pack up small.” It only comes in one golden yellow color, but if you can sacrifice the 15-degree warmth rating, there's a slightly lighter model in blue that's on sale for $162.

A good sleeping bag is an outdoor essential, and this one from Nemo covers all of the bases. It’s designed to give you space at the elbows and knees so you can change sleeping positions all night long. It's also stuffed with premium 650-fill down that’s hydrophobic and sourced responsibly and it's reinforced with waterproof material at the hood and footbox to keep condensation at bay. Special “Thermo Gill” vents on each side of the chest help you dial in the perfect sleeping temp and a thick draft collar keeps out chill as you slumber. The zipper is designed to be anti-snag so you won’t get frustrated getting in or out—especially for late-night bathroom breaks. The bag is also constructed of materials that can be recycled so it doesn’t have to go into a landfill once its life is over.

Satisfied shoppers are most enthused that the sleeping bag is roomy enough to accommodate all types of sleepers. “I'm a side sleeper and I cannot stand traditional mummy bags," a shopper began. "This is the only mummy I'll ever use again.” Another agreed, saying, “This gives me a lot more room to move around—I sleep on my back and sides and switch all night.”

Other customers have said they like how versatile the sleeping bag has proven to be. One shopper said that it is “warm, light, compact, and comfortable,” while another added, “There are so many features that allow you to control the temp inside the bag, so no matter what, you can sleep comfortably.” One reviewer went as far as calling it “the best sleeping bag I have ever owned.”

Sleeping bags, along with sleeping pads, can turn any backcountry night from a restless nightmare into a peaceful slumber, and this one from Nemo is the antidote to an awful outdoor sleeping situation. Not only is it one of the best bags reviewers have used, but it’s also an astounding $120 off. Those in the know will snap this one up quickly, so get this into your cart before it’s too late.

Telangana Government Forms Committees To Oversee Food Safety In State-Run Schools

Amid the reports of food poisoning incidents in government schools, the Telangana government on Thursday constituted separate committees to ensure the safety of food served to the students. Taking serious note of such incidents, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy directed district Collectors to undertake regular inspections in state-run educational institutions to ensure that there is no negligence in providing hygienic food to the students.

Expressing anguish over the incidents of students falling ill after eating food, despite several directives given by him, CM warned that once the negligence was proved, the government would not hesitate to sack the employees responsible for that. State Panchayat Raj Minister D Anasuya Seethakka expressed doubts that conspiracies could be behind the 'food poisoning' incidents and vowed to expose them.

State Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari issued orders constituting a three-member 'Task Force Committee' to ensure the safety of food distributed in all the state-run institutions, including schools, welfare hostels, residential schools, hospitals, and Anganwadi Centres running under the departments of scheduled caste development, tribal, backward classes, minority welfare and others.

The 'Task Force Committee' shall consist Commissioner of Food Safety/Food Safety Officer, Head of the Department (HoD) of the concerned institution/Additional Director, and District level officer of the concerned institution. The Committee should visit and probe all food safety incidents reported in any institution, identify the reasons, and fix the responsibility against the persons and agencies, the orders issued by the Chief Secretary said.

Separately, the Chief Secretary issued an order to constitute institution-level food safety committees to oversee the cooking and serving of food to prevent food contamination and food-borne illnesses.

The committee shall consist Head of the Institution (Head Master/Principal) and two other staff members working in the institution. The panel shall inspect the store room and kitchen before cooking every meal and ensure the quality of provisions and hygiene in the kitchen room, the order said.

The committee members should taste the food after the preparation of every meal to check the quality of the food before serving it to the children, the order said.

The committee should take photos of these activities and keep them in the record without fail till a 'nodal department' develops a mobile-based app that would allow instant uploading of photos taken in each institution, it said.

Alleging that BRS is shedding crocodile tears on the incidents of students falling ill, Minister Seethakka on Thursday asked if any minister visited the victims when such incidents happened during the previous BRS regime.

"We will expose such conspiracies... If any officials are involved in such conspiracies, we will file criminal cases and remove them from service," she told reporters.

BRS Working President K T Rama Rao on Wednesday said his party MLAs and other leaders would visit the state-run educational institutions between November 30 and December 7 to study the conditions there. He alleged that the Congress government has thrown school education and social welfare residential schools into a crisis.

The Telangana High Court on Wednesday sought a report from the government by December 2 over the recent incidents of students falling ill after consuming mid-day meals in government schools.

Here Are 3 Easy Ways To Store Methi Leaves

1. Dry and Store

Want to keep methi for the long haul? Drying it out is your best bet! Simply separate the leaves from the stems and wash them thoroughly (3-4 times to get rid of dirt). Lay them out on a cotton cloth to dry, then store them in an airtight container. You'll have fenugreek leaves on hand to use in your favourite dishes whenever you're craving them.

2. Store in the Freezer

Freezing methi is another smart way to store it. First, wash the leaves 3-4 times to remove any dirt. Let them dry completely, then chop them finely and separate the stems. Pack the chopped leaves in a ziplock bag, seal it up, and pop it in the freezer. Take them out only when you're ready to cook!

3. Wrap in Paper Towel

If you want to keep methi fresh for up to 12 days, wrap it in a paper towel. Don't wash the leaves before storing them; wash them only when you're ready to use them. Once wrapped, place the leaves in a plastic bag, squeeze out the air, seal the bag, and refrigerate. You'll have fresh methi on hand for over a week!

Here Are 5 Recipes You Can Make With Methi

1. Methi Thepla

A popular Gujarati snack, thepla is made by kneading dough with methi leaves, ginger, chilli, herbs, and yogurt. It's perfect for breakfast!

This twist on the classic kadhi recipe adds methi leaves for extra flavour. It's comforting and perfect for a cosy meal.

5. Methi-Malai Matar

This rich dish features methi leaves, peas, cream, and a blend of spices. It pairs beautifully with naan and is a guaranteed crowd-pleaser.

Old Overholt's Limited-Edition New Whiskey Is a Must-Buy for Rye Fans

Rye whiskey has soared over the past decade. Despite being the most historic style of American whiskey, domestic liquor stores couldn’t give the stuff away as recently as the early 2010s. Back then, screw-capped expressions of the spirit would collect dust on shelves at $20 a bottle.

Today, bottles five times that cost are ripped from the rack the very moment they drop. Indeed, rye’s modern star turn as one of the country’s fastest growing categories is driven primarily by the explosion of super-premium selections.

No single lineup of liquids better encapsulates this reinvention than Old Overholt. It was established all the way back in 1810 by a Pennsylvania farmer-turned-legendary master distiller named Abraham Overholt. 214 years later, the label that bears his name exists as the world’s oldest continuously operated rye brand. For decades its spicy, non-chill-filtered flagship offering has been one of the best bargains in all of whiskey. You can still easily encounter it for under $20 a bottle.

Want the latest whiskey news, deals, and reviews? Sign up for the Whiskey Wednesday newsletter.

But in 2020, Old Overholt’s parent company, Beam Suntory, invested in a sizable makeover for the brand. It included new bottle designs and an upgrade in proof (and age statement) for the flagship, along with several premium expressions of note—which brings us to the latest addition to the portfolio: Extra Aged Cask Strength 11 Year. The newcomer might just be the best Old Overholt we’ve ever sipped.

It’s not a result arrived at by chance. This bold and assertive batch of savory ryes was plucked from some of Jim Beam’s most reliable barrel warehouses in Clermont, KY. By focusing on casks that dwelled near the cooler, danker bottom levels of those maturation facilities, the blenders were able to avoid an over-oaked flavor profile.

The result is a wondrously complex sipping spirit, sturdily bottled at 107.4 proof. Almost marmalade in hue, it noses with honey and caraway. Rich notes of vanilla and pipe tobacco compete for attention on the tongue. The finish retreats with a warming embrace of peppermint and clove; a recipe just right for the upcoming holiday season. Yet, it’s an absolute joy to drink at any time of year.

It may be the best Old Overholt ever. And at $100 a bottle, it’s almost certainly the most expensive. If it was ten years ago, that figure might have elicited sticker shock. In 2024, however, it can only read as bargain for a rare edition “extra aged” rye that’s been released just three times over the past four years. Gone are the days of this style of whiskey collecting dust. Proceed with an appropriate sense of urgency or you’ll be left in it.

Regal Cinemas Debuts $30 'Nosferatu' Novelty Popcorn Bucket

Robert Eggers' remake of Nosferatu hits theaters on Christmas Day, and because what moviegoing experience would be complete without spending a small fortune at the concessions stand, Regal Cinemas has revealed its latest collectible novelty popcorn bucket in connection with the film.

The Nosferatu popcorn bucket is, not wholly surprisingly, in the shape of an ornate sarcophagus, much like the one the vampire Count Orlok slumbers in. Per The Hollywood Reporter, the popcorn sarcophagus will set audiences back $30.99 with a large popcorn, or you can also purchase it sans popcorn for $25.99. The Nosferatu box will go on sale one week in advance of the film's release on Wednesday, Dec. 18.

"Sink your teeth into the ultimate collectible," Regal posted to social media, unveiling the spooky popcorn holder. "Well, that's certainly one way to keep your popcorn secure," one user quipped.

Movie theater chains have increasingly attempted to outdo one another in coming up with novelty popcorn buckets since AMC Theaters started the trend in 2019 with a $49.99 R2-D2 popcorn and drink holder for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. In early 2024, the company released a Dune: Part Two popcorn bucket that went viral for all the wrong reasons, and later admitted it went too far. Yet, that didn't stop AMC from releasing an equally eyebrow-raising Deadpool & Wolverine version.

Nosferatu, a reimagining of the 1922 German film of the same name, stars  Bill SkarsgÃ¥rd, Nicholas Hoult, Lily-Rose Depp, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Emma Corrin, and Willem Dafoe. You can watch the trailer below.

FBI Arrests 'Most Wanted' Fugitive 20 Years After Bombings

An accused domestic terrorist and extreme animal rights activist has been apprehended in Wales after more than 20 years on the lam and 15 years on the FBI's Most Wanted Terrorist List.

Daniel Andreas San Diego, 46, was wanted in connection with planting two bombs that exploded an hour apart on the campus of a biotechnology company in Emeryville, CA on Aug. 28, 2003. Though no one was injured in the bombings, authorities said the explosions were intended to harm first responders.

He's also accused of setting another bomb a month later at a nutritional products company in Pleasanton, CA. Both companies had been targeted due to their work with experimental drugs and chemicals on animals.

CNN reports that the FBI had San Diego under surveillance in the months following the bombings. But on Oct. 6, 2003, he parked his car near downtown San Francisco, walked into a transit station, and disappeared into thin air. There had been subsequent sightings around the world with searches conducted everywhere from Massachusetts to Hawaii, but he continued to evade authorities.

San Diego was eventually added to the most wanted list in 2009 as the first person suspected of domestic terrorism, with a reward of $250,000 offered for any information leading to his arrest. His photos appeared on billboards across the country and he was featured several times on America’s Most Wanted.

Finally, the manhunt came to an end Monday when authorities arrested San Diego in a rural area in northern Wales. He appeared before Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday and is currently being held in custody while he awaits extradition.

"Daniel San Diego’s arrest after more than 20 years as a fugitive for two bombings in the San Francisco area shows that no matter how long it takes, the FBI will find you and hold you accountable," FBI Director Christopher Wray said in a statement. "There’s a right way and a wrong way to express your views in our country, and turning to violence and destruction of property is not the right way."

Billy Corgan Thinks Bill Burr Could Be a Long-Lost Half-Brother

Billy Corgan floated a wild theory about how he could be related to comedian Bill Burr during an appearance on the latest episode of Howie Mandel's Howie Mandel Does Stuff podcast. And while it's definitely a far-fetched theory, you can't deny that there isn't a resemblance between the two men.

The subject came up coincidentally, when Mandel realized that they accidentally had used Burr's image instead of Corgan's in the graphic. "It happens," Corgan admitted of the likeness. "There are actually me and Bill Burr memes. If I had Bill Burr’s money I’d be happy to be Bill Burr.”

"But I do have a Bill Burr story, if you want to hear it, and I've never told it anywhere," the 57-year-old said. "In fact, most of my friends don’t even know this story."

Corgan recalled that about 10 years ago, he was at a birthday party for one of his brothers and his stepmother, who had been married to his father, was in attendance. "And my stepmother said to me, 'Do you know who Bill Burr is?' Now at that point, I had never heard of Bill Burr, I didn’t know who he was. I didn’t know he was a comedian or anything—he could have been the guy down the street."

And she said, 'Well, he’s this comedian,'" he continued. "And I think I even somehow called up a picture on the phone and I kind of noticed right away, 'Gee, he kind of looks like my father.' Bill Burr looks more like my father than Bill Burr looks like me or I look like Bill Burr."

At this point in the story, Mandel appeared clearly in shock with his jaw hanging wide open.

"So, I said to my mother like, 'Why are you asking me this?' I thought maybe the first thing she was going to say was, ‘Oh, I thought you’d notice the resemblance,'" Corgan recounted. "She goes, ‘I think it might be one of your father’s illegitimate children. Bill Burr might be one of the children that your father sired in his days of being a traveling musician.'"

"This is a true story. I’m not making this up, there is no joke in this. This is a true story. I’ve never told this anywhere, honestly," he emphasized.

Corgan said that at that point, he began to put the pieces together and realized that he and Burr were about the same age. And then he remembered something his father had once told him.

"And my father did once tell me that I had a half brother named Bill who was basically born around the same time as me. He told me on my 18th birthday. This is all totally true, I swear to God," he revealed. "So I said, 'Well, how many other possible illegitimate children does daddy have because he did tell me about this one Bill.'"

"And again, I didn’t know that Bill was a famous comedian," Corgan reiterated. "He could have been a guy that’s working down the street at the Whack Factory in Chicago. I had no idea who he was. None. Zero."

"And she goes, 'I think there’s 12 total,'" he recalled his stepmother telling him, adding: "Well, he was a traveling musician."

Corgan continued, saying that he's never brought it up, even though he and Burr have connections in common. He also noted that he looked up Burr's life history and didn't see anything out of the ordinary, so had no reason to get in contact with him. (In fact, the 56-year-old was born in Canton, MA on June 10, 1968, to nurse Linda Ann and dentist Robert Burr.)

At that point, Mandel floated the idea of calling Burr to ask him what he thought of the story, to which Corgan very reasonably replied: "I don’t want to be made fun of by Bill Burr."

"He’s very funny and I really don’t want the psychological darts in my heart," he continued. "All respect to Bill Burr. He’s obviously very talented and funny."

Yet, despite the obvious likeness between Burr and Corgan's father, ultimately, the singer thinks it's just a big coincidence.

"Can I say one last thing. It’s my belief at this point, because I’ve sat on the story for 10 years, that I don’t think Bill Burr and I are related. I think it’s just one of those things, you know," he added, noting that Bono and Robin Williams also both look very similar. "So what I'm saying is, there are just people in the world who just look alike."

50% of U.S. Travelers Cut Their Vacations Short for This Annoying Reason

Traveling is one of life's greatest pleasures. There's no better way to meet different kinds of people, experience authentic cuisine, and remove yourself from the routine of everyday life.

While approximately 51% of Gen Xers and 57% of baby boomers prioritize relaxation when they plan their annual vacation, mental repose is not always the result while traveling. In fact, according to a recent report from Dupe Destinations by Cheapflights, many U.S. travelers have recently become fed up with the number of travel destinations overrun by tourists.

Of the 2,000 travelers who responded to the August survey, most agreed that overcrowding negatively affected their trip. According to the report, half of travelers cut their trips short because of overcrowding, 61% said overcrowding had a negative effect on their vacation experience, and 63% avoided peak season in the hope of skipping overcrowding. Three in five travelers even went as far as to say they're less likely to return to a destination if it was too busy during their stay.

So should you stop traveling to the world’s most beautiful places for fear of overcrowding? My vote is no and I have suggestions below to make your travel just a little more peaceful and a little less cramped.

Stay Off the Beaten Path

When people from the U.S. travel, it's more likely than not they'll stick to the well-traveled spots with a tourist trail. While the most well-known tourist spots have positives like higher levels of safety and the likelihood of local workers knowing English, there's also a higher chance of overcrowding. If you want to avoid congestion on your next trip, try staying off the beaten path. While you might miss out on some of the more Instagrammable destinations, you'll also be more likely to discover some hidden gems and get a better feel for the local culture.

Book Your Trip in the Offseason

There's a reason most travelers book vacations in peak season—the weather conditions are usually ideal and more people have time off due to school breaks and holidays. But with peak season comes droves of people, and if you're trying to avoid that it might be best to go in the local offseason. While the weather might not be perfect you're more likely to get better prices and more tolerant locals.

Roughly 70 percent of the population are considered "third birds" or people who are at their best during the middle hours of the day, according to Harvard. So, if you're one of the roughly 15 percent of people who are considered early risers, it's best to start your activities early before the majority of people are up and at them.

While congestion in popular spots is normal, the above tips can help you find ways around the crowds and help you to better enjoy your next vacation.

Influencer, Alleged Shoplifter Busted After Ill-Advised TikTok Video

A Florida woman and TikTok influencer has been arrested after allegedly stealing hundreds of dollars worth of products from a Target store, Law & Crime reported. Though the scofflaw made it off the property, she was busted after showing off her haul on the social media platform.

Marlena Valez, 22, has been charged with one count of petit theft in excess of $100 but less than $750, which is a misdemeanor charge stemming from an Oct. 30 incident at a Target location in Cape Coral in southwest Florida. Loss prevention officers noticed Valez while she was in the store, but nothing appeared suspicious until she went to check out.

“Once at the self-checkout register, the female suspect did not scan the items’ barcodes, instead scanning a false barcode with cheaper prices,” Cape Coral’s police department explained in a statement. “Sixteen items of miscellaneous household goods and clothing were stolen. The total loss of the stolen items was valued at $500.32. Officers verified this with Target’s security cameras.”

Pictures of Valez were posted to social media, which led to a key tip. “An anonymous caller saw the post on social media and gave a possible identification for the suspect,” the statement explained. “The anonymous caller also provided officers with Marlena’s Instagram handle.”

Once equipped with the suspect’s social media information, they discovered an astonishing display on Valez’s TikTok profile. “Marlena documents herself picking out items inside the store and placing them in her car after exiting the store,” the statement continued. “Marlena appears to be a content creator with almost 300,000 followers.”

Police were able to identify Valez because she was wearing “the same outfit and glasses” in her TikTok videos as the suspect seen in Target’s surveillance footage. “She posted a video that day of herself going to Target, buying these items, and then taking them home with her,” Mercedes Simonds, Cape Coral’s Police Public Information Officer, reported. “Everything was documented.”

Valez was arrested on Nov. 21 and released several hours later on a cash bond of $150. She is due to appear in court on Dec. 10.
