7 Killer Wireless Over-Ear Headphones for Around $100

As much as podcasts have revolutionized what we listen to, wireless connectivity has changed how we listen. Audio equipment, though, is notorious for one stark truth: You get what you pay for. And when it comes to headphones, if you don’t pay enough then you’re not getting much at all.

There’s no doubt renowned companies like Bose, Sennheiser, and Bowers & Wilkins are making phenomenal cans these days, if you can afford them. Alas, we can’t. So we set out to locate the best wireless over-ear headphones we could find—without paying more than a hundred bucks.

Sound simple? It wasn’t.

It’s frankly remarkable how far wireless headphones have come in just the last couple of years. Remember when everyone had white cords dangling from their ears? It wasn’t that long ago that we were all tethered to our phones and (gulp) iPods. And god forbid you were the one loser with the dark headphone cord! Fuhgeddaboudit.

Today, headphones are more than just a means of listening to music. Now we can take and place phone calls, block out office chatter (or screaming babies on the plane), and keep our ears warm, all in one fell swoop. And we can move about unencumbered. Still, untethered means exactly that, and losing your phones is far more traumatic—and expensive—than, say, misplacing your sunglasses. So who can afford to spend $500 or more on something so easy to lose?

So here’s list of wireless headphones that allow you to rock out in solitude, even in public, with little danger of having to take out a loan just to replace them.
