Want Lustrous Hair? Nutritionist Reveals 3 Seeds To Incorporate Into Your Diet

Is your hair looking dry and frizzy? Does your hair lack that natural shine and volume? If so, fret not, you've come to the right place. We understand that external factors like pollution or the use of hair colour and chemicals can damage your hair. However, what we often do not pay attention to is our everyday diet. As important as it is to protect your hair from external factors, you must provide internal nourishment as well. Recently, nutritionist Deepshika Jain took to her official Instagram handle to share some wonder seeds that can transform the quality of your hair. Intrigued to know what these seeds are? Take a look:

Here Are 3 Seeds You Can Consume For Healthy Hair, As Per The Nutritionist:

Nutritionist Deepshika Jain suggested three seeds to incorporate into your diet if you want healthy and luscious hair.

1. Flax Seeds

Flax seeds have emerged as a superfood in recent times. And why not? They have some incredible benefits to offer for our health. It comes as no surprise that these tiny black seeds can also be beneficial for hair health. Flaxseeds are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin E, and biotin - all great for our hair. Jain explains that omega-3 helps combat hair issues like flakiness and dryness and nourishes the scalp. The other two vitamins aid in strengthening the hair follicles, giving it that extra shine. She suggests using ground raw flax seeds and incorporating them into yoghurt, fruit bowls, etc.

2. Fenugreek Seeds

The nutritionist also recommends adding fenugreek seeds to your diet. Also known as methi seeds, they are rich in iron, folic acid, and protein. She states that iron and folic acid help improve the oxygen supply to the hair scalp, hence combating hair fall and hair thinning. Whereas, protein will make your hair stronger and healthier. Wondering what is the best way to eat these seeds? Jain suggests sprouting them for more protein production. After sprouting, you can also make its powder and add it to your meals.

3. Hemp Seeds

Hemp seeds are also known to be highly nutritious. They are a great source of plant-based protein, making them great for our health. As we all know, protein is one of the most essential nutrients required to keep our hair healthy, and hemp seeds have it in abundance. Additionally, hemp seeds are also rich in omega-3, making them even better for your hair. The nutritionist recommends soaking hemp seeds before consuming them to reap their benefits for hair health.

What Are The Worst Foods For Hair Health?

Now that you know about the best seeds for your hair, you must be wondering what foods you should avoid. Here are some that you should steer clear of:

1. Deep-Fried Food

Deep-fried food is probably the worst thing we can consume. Not only do they cause high cholesterol, but can also be harmful to our hair. The reason for this is their high oil content. When we consume greasy foods such as pakodas, samosa, French fries, etc., they can make our scalp greasy. A greasy scalp leads to the clogging of pores, thus causing hair problems.

2. Sugary Foods

You must exclude all types of sugary foods from your diet. These include chocolates, gulab jamun, cakes, ice cream, and all things sweet that your heart desires. Sugary foods can cause inflammation and damage our hair follicles - something we want to avoid. If you wish to have luscious hair, you'll have to keep your sugar intake to a minimum.

3. Refined Flour

Refined flour (maida) can also be detrimental to our hair health. This is because refined flour has a high glycaemic index, causing a spike in insulin levels. When we have high insulin levels, we are more prone to issues like hair loss. To avoid this, swap foods that have refined flour as an ingredient with healthier alternatives like whole wheat flour (atta).

Incorporate these seeds into your diet and achieve the healthy and luscious hair you've always desired.

Is Rice Flour Mathri Healthy?

Absolutely! Rice flour mathris are a healthier option than regular mathris because of their ingredients. Rice flour is made from gluten-free grain so it can be a great option for those suffering from gluten intolerance and Celiac disease. Plus, rice flour is high in fibre so it can keep your digestive system healthy. Moreover, this mathri recipe also has moong and chana dal so it's high in protein. The best part about this rice flour mathri is that it's baked and requires only the needful amount of oil, so it'll help you stay full but prevent you from gaining those extra kilos.

How Is Rice Flour Mathri Different From Regular Mathri?

1. Texture

Typically, mathris are made with all-purpose flour (maida) and wheat flour which gives them a dense taste and texture. However, mathris made with rice flour have a lighter and crispier texture. They are less dense and thinner than the maida and wheat mathris.

2. Flavour

Since regular mathris use lots of ghee and oil, they have a rich and a little bit of nutty flavour due to the presence of wheat in them. As opposed, rice flour mathris gives a subtle, slightly sweet flavour which makes the mathris taste lighter. Moreover, rice flour mathris absorb spices much better so they are more flavourful.

3. Digestibility

Wheat-based mathris have gluten in them and can be heavier and more difficult to digest, especially for people with gluten intolerance. But, mathris made with rice flour is generally easier to digest since it is gluten-free, making it a perfect option for people with gluten sensitivity.

Jason and Travis Kelce Reveal Tattoos They've Considered Getting

Jason Kelce and Travis Kelce are notably bare-skinned, in an age where professional athletes sporting ink has become the status quo rather than an exception to the rule. On the latest episode of their New Heights podcast, however, the famous brothers discussed which tattoos they've thought about getting. Though, from the sound of it, you needn't hold your breath.

The subject came up during the Kelces' "Fan Mentions of the Week" segment on Wednesday's new episode, when they discussed fans getting tattoos in their likeness. They pointed out one diehard who got a tattoo of the duo's Garage Beer brand, an independent light beer label based out of Cincinnati that they recently partnered with. Likewise, another fan got Jason's signature tattooed on her arm after meeting him at a recent charity event in Sea Isle City.

However, when Jason asked Travis whether he'd ever get a tattoo, he initially shut down the idea.

"No. We talked about doing a family crest or something like that, or have something fun that me, you, and dad could have gotten," he responded. "I don't know. I would still be open to it, I just don't have the creative desire to like, wanna get a tattoo."

"Yeah, it's like the forever thing that really puts a damper on it," Jason admitted. "I've never pulled the trigger on it, don't plan on it. I might get a wedding ring tattoo because I take my ring off to do a lot of things. I don't like having rings on."

"You're notorious for losing rings, Jason, you don't have to explain yourself," Travis quipped, referring to the $100,000 Super Bowl championship ring that the former Philadelphia Eagles center lost in a giant pool of chili earlier this year. "How does Ky feel about it, that's the real question?" he asked, referring to Jason's wife Kylie.

"Oh, she's indifferent, she's like, 'Yeah, you wanna do that or not,'" he explained. "I mean, she's a little upset that I lose my ring sometimes."

When Travis then floated the subject of "the worst tattoo a person could get," Jason said that while he didn't want to "put people on blast," he thought that "a Garage Beer tattoo is about as bad as it gets."

"I think the worst tattoo somebody could get is like when they get like a tattoo of a team winning a championship and then they don't win the championship, I think that's the worst one you could do," Travis added. Not that Eagles fans know anything about that, of course.

Sailor Details Harrowing Rescue After ‘Ghost Ship’ Washes Up on Popular Beach

Details have come to light regarding a mysterious "ghost ship" which washed ashore on a popular Florida beach.

The 45-foot vessel, dubbed “Lady Catherine III,” came to shore earlier this week on Pensacola Beach. Its captain, Michael Barlow, spoke to WEAR News about its ill-fated voyage. Barlow had planned to take Lady Catherine III to Honduras for the summer, where he teaches scuba diving.

"When the season was over, I was gonna come back,” he explained. “My family and I were gonna move on board and take off after hurricane season."

Barlow and a pal left at the beginning of June, planning to travel 884 miles from Fort Pierce, FL across the Gulf of Mexico before landing in Honduras. For the first week of their journey, there was little issue.

"The forecast was beautiful," Barlow recalled. "We had 15 to 20 knots on our backs all the way home to Texas."

But then, as they passed through Louisiana, a savage storm descended upon the small vessel. "The seas started building, wind hit us, and it was 30 to 40 knots," he said. "It pretty much stayed that way for the next two days."

Complicating matters further, Barlow’s mate became hypothermic and was largely absent while the captain guided the boat.

"The autopilot broke in the first storm, so we had been hand steering for three days," Barlow explained. "[My friend] had all the symptoms of hypothermia and he went down below and passed out. He was unconscious throughout all of this.”

Barlow continued: “I'm sitting there and watching these seas build, so I started hammering on the radio going through the procedures just seeing if there was someone within reach that could help us. No one was responding. I went through 'pon pon pon pon, mayday mayday!' — and no response."

Eventually, he noticed an S.O.S. feature on his Garmin radio. When activated, it immediately connected him to the Coast Guard. "They told me they were looking at the radar and said, 'You are fixing to get slammed again. We can come get you right now. But we are three hours away and you have to leave your vessel,'" Barlow recalled. "I said to come get us."

New Orleans-based rescue swimmer Richard Hoefle undertook the task of extricating the two men.

"One of the big challenges with getting out there, apart from the distance, was the weather," Hoefle explained. "We were going to be dodging storms, flying left and flying right to get around these storms passing in the Gulf. When we showed up. The boat was just battered. It was moving back and forth in the waves. I was getting seasick from the helicopter just looking at these guys."

Hoefle proceeded to jump from the helicopter and maneuver his way through the fierce waves to the boat.

"It was like a movie," Barlow said of his rescue. "Bro jumped in out of a helicopter in these mad big seas and swam over to us with nothing but snorkel gear on," he marveled.

"You can just see the relief as they see the light at the end of the tunnel,” Hoefel recalled of reaching the boat.

Barlow and his pal were flown to Panama City, Florida and returned home shortly after. When a passerby found Lady Catherine III run aground this week, she found Barlow on social media and summoned him to the scene.

While scavengers had relieved the boat of all valuables before Barlow arrived, he contends the experience, and his rescue, were more valuable than Lady Catherine herself.

"I've got a 9-year-old son and a beautiful wife," he said. "We had plans to go sail and travel and we worked real hard to get here, so I was gonna come home."

Paul Mescal Didn't Want 'Gladiator II' Training to Make Him Too Sexy

Paul Mescal has been hard at working bulking up for his role in Gladiator II. The Irish actor prepared for the role by putting in lots of time at the gym to achieve the body of an ancient Roman soldier. But he didn't want to take the training too far.

Mescal opened up about his Gladiator II experience in a new interview with Vanity Fair. His priority wasn't simply to get a more chiseled look, but to physically resemble what his role required.

“I just wanted to be big and strong and look like somebody who can cause a bit of damage when s--t hits the fan,” he explained. “I think also, sometimes, one could, in striving for that perfect look, end up looking more like an underwear model than a warrior.”

He confessed that how he looked in the mirror affected how he embodied his character.

"Muscles start to grow, and that can be deemed [an] aesthetic in certain capacities, but there is something about feeling strong in your body that elicits just a different feeling. You carry yourself differently,” he said. "It has an impact on you psychologically in a way that is useful for the film."

Mescal's co-star Pedro Pascal even gave him the nickname "Brick Wall Paul" because of his physique. "He got so strong," Pascal admitted. Carl Weathers Left His Family a Shocking Amount of Money in Cash

Whether you met him on the football field or on screen in movies like Rocky or The Mandalorian, Carl Weathers was a beloved figure in American culture. The Happy Gilmore star died Feb. 1 at the age of 76, and it turns out he left behind quite a sum of money for his family. Even more shocking was just how he kept it.

According to court documents obtained by In Touch, Weathers' family revealed that he had $870,053.83 at the time of his death. He kept a total of $664,585 in cash in safe deposit boxes at the bank, in addition to two City National accounts with $40,278 and $107,190, respectively.

That's not all Weathers left behind in his name. He owned a 2018 GMC pickup truck with 18,976 miles on it estimated by the family to be worth approximately $58,000.

Weathers' life took him from the football field to the silver screen in the early 1970s. He briefly played with the Oakland Raiders and had a quick stint in Canada with the BC Lions before transitioning into an acting career. His breakout role came in 1976 when he starred opposite Sylvester Stallone as the iconic antagonist Apollo Creed in Rocky. He went on to reprise his role in the sequels Rocky II, Rocky III, and Rocky IV. At the turn of this decade, he was introduced to both new and old audiences with a major role in the Star Wars spin-off series The Mandalorian

"Carl was an exceptional human being who lived an extraordinary life," his family said in a statement after his death, per Deadline. "Through his contributions to film, television, the arts and sports, he has left an indelible mark and is recognized worldwide and across generations."
