We Torture-Tested the New PXG Gen 4 Golf Clubs

So much of golf is about feel. That’s true not only in terms of performance but also the emotional response of a perfectly struck shot. The feeling you get from hitting the sweet spot and looking up to watch a pure golf shot flying toward the target is thrilling and that’s what I’ve been experiencing more often since putting the PXG Gen 4 clubs in the bag.

While it’s still rather early in the golf season, I’ve managed to play six rounds and several practice sessions with a launch monitor testing the new sticks and discovered a few performance upgrades that yield a sonorous chord of confidence.

Irons

First, in the 0311 Gen 4 irons, the brand is using a new custom-made XCOR polymer to reinforce an extremely thin 1.5mm maraging steel face. The material is soft and flexible, but doesn’t absorb energy, which allows for faster ball speeds and more distance compared to previous generations. That new polymer also sounds and feels different (in a good way) at impact.

More distance is cool. I seem to be getting between 4 to 6 more yards out of full, well-struck irons shots, excellent check into greens with the short- and mid-irons, plus a bit of extra forgiveness on mishits compared to Gen 3. But what I’m truly loving about the Gen 4 irons is the new center weight. PXG has reduced the number of its signature visible screw weights in the back of the club head from nine to five—and not just for the sake of Dolly Parton. One of those weights is a large and variable one.

During my session, the PXG club fitter and I experimented with a few different weights in the club head, and we found more consistency from the heaviest 18 gram weight. Some players might pick up speed with a lighter club head, but what I noticed was the heavier weight added some feel to where my club head was at the top of the backswing. As someone who can get a little loose at the top and over-rotates, it allowed me to better realize where my hands are and trigger the transition to the downswing before I go too far.

Adding weight to the club head isn’t a new technology; it’s typically done with lead tape for elite players using blade-style irons in the back of a maker’s tour van. But PXG has added this extra customization for all skill levels—from professional to rank amateur—and it’s worth the time and energy to find the right combination at a personalized fitting.

As with previous generations, PXG offers the 0311 irons in three models T, or Tour Performance, which has less offset (they’re also more workable); XP, for Xtreme Performance along with maximum forgiveness; and P, for Player, which sits in the middle.

Driver

The new Gen 4 driver also features loads of new tech. The body and face are both made of high-strength titanium, while a large section of the crown is constructed from carbon fiber reinforced with aluminum vapor. If you cut the club head open, you’d find a honeycomb-shaped thermoplastic urethane inside the sole, which gives the club great sound and feel.

On the course, the new driver is comparable in terms of distance with my previous gamer. The sweet spot isn’t quite as hot, but it’s radically straighter and more consistent thanks to the custom fitting. It’s much easier to make par or better from 10 feet father back and in the fairway than in the rough or the trees.

The driver comes in three models XF (maximum forgiveness), X (blend of forgiveness and distance), and XT (smaller head for more speed).

Fairway Woods and Hybrids

Much like the driver, PXG’s new fairways and hybrids also utilize aluminum-vapor reinforced carbon fiber in the crown, but the bodies and faces are constructed from steel. Both the fairway woods and the hybrids feature larger faces (taller on the woods and longer in the hybrids) with customizable weighting for draw and fade bias.

These two clubs were where I saw the most distance gains. During the fitting, I picked up more than a dozen yards with a three hybrid and 20 plus when ripping a three wood. Those are monstrous numbers. On the course, that’s bringing long par-5s within range of my second shot and making decisions to lay back behind the danger of water or fairway bunkers all the easier.

The 0341 X fairway woods come in lofts of 13, 15, 18, and 21 degrees and 17, 19, 22, 25, and 28 degrees in the 0317 X hybrids.

Best for Mountain-Bike Muscle: Trek E-Caliber 9.8 XT

To shred longer and climb uphills faster, Trek has engineered an ingenious cross-country e-machine with 250 watts of juice. When you don’t need the assist, pull the battery/motor and drop nearly 7 pounds, turning the E-Caliber into a superb singletrack slayer. Try Michael B. Jordan's ‘Without Remorse’ Workout

Since first debuting his epic transformation into Adonis Creed for his Rocky spin-off series, Michael B. Jordan has consistently moved the needle with his physical transformations (admit it, you’ve Googled Michael B. Jordan’s workout on more than one occasion). That pattern has continued with Without Remorse, the new Tom Clancy military thriller, where he plays a decorated Navy SEAL. In order to get there, the actor once again worked with longtime trainer Corey Calliet.

Michael B. Jordan’s SEAL-Ready Nutrition and Recovery Plan

Calliet took it back to the basics with Jordan for Without Remorse, which meant prioritizing lean proteins, vegetables, slow carbs, whole grains, and good fats. That was done over the course of five to six meals a day, depending on his schedule.

The goal was do get the majority of his nutrition naturally with food, but Jordan did have a special selection of vitamins that were sent to him by his mother. “I don’t even know which ones he was taking,” admits Calliet, laughing. “But you know moms. They know best. All I know is it worked, because he didn’t get sick once, which is a concern when you’re working internationally.”

Jordan personally puts a lot of stock in meditation, and its ability to heal the mind as well as the body. In addition, he had a masseuse that would come four times a week to ease muscle tension and improve circulation. “I really put him through it with this training, so he needed it,” says Calliet. “Between that and putting an emphasis on sleep, I was glad we avoided any injuries.”

Michael B. Jordan’s Without Remorse Workout

Before filming, Jordan and Calliet connected with Buck Doyle, a highly decorated U.S. Marine with over two decades of service. The knowledgable veteran was able to share insights into the extreme physical preparation that elite soldiers go through. Calliet then used that intel when it came time to craft his own training program for Jordan.

“I had him wearing a weighted vest during majority of our workouts because I wanted him familiar with that level of fatigue,” says Calliet. Because his character is a special forces soldier, Jordan would be wearing a lot of gear and carrying heavy guns in scenes. And since he likes to do a lot of his own stunts, it was necessary to give him the capacity to do so. “Every single session we did was intense. Every session was elite.”

They worked out for three months before arriving in Germany to film, and the training continued throughout production, putting in late night sessions at the Soho House in Berlin. For the programming, Calliet created a HIIT-style approach to build lean muscle mass and keep evolving the fuel tank. “There are movies were you’re focused on the aesthetic,” he says. “This wasn’t one of those. We were driven to give him that military physique.”

Directions: This is a sample circuit Calliet built for Jordan to increase strength and challenge his cardio. This may seem tame for Michael B. Jordan’s workout, but keep in mind he wore a 25-pound weighted vest throughout, so that greatly increases the difficulty. During production they used an XD vest, but any will do.

Perform this four-exercise circuit for a total of 6 rounds. You’ll perform 45 seconds of intense effort followed by 15 seconds of rest for each move. The goal is to push yourself and go at full capacity. Take 1 minute rest at the end of every round.

1. Burpees

How to do it: Stand with feet shoulder-width apart. Keep your back straight as you squat down and place your hands on the floor. Brace your weight and jump back into a pushup position. Keep your core tight as you hold the pushup, drop your belly to the floor, or perform a standard pushup, then jump your feet to your hands and stand back up. Immediately jump up as high as you can with your hands overhead and hips extended.

2. Kettlebell Swings

How to do it: Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, with a kettlebell in front of you. Hinge at your waist and pick up the kettlebell with both hands using an overhand grip. Keep the arch in your lower back, ad you hinge your hips back until the kettlebell is between and behind your legs; squeeze your glutes to extend your hips and swing the weight up. Let the weight swing back between your legs as you hinge your hips and slightly bend knees (if it hits you in the butt, you’re doing it right). Extend your hips and knees to reverse the momentum as you immediately begin the next rep.

3. Med Ball Slams

How to do it: Stand with feet at shoulder-width. Hold a medicine ball in front of you with knees slightly bent. Brace your core and reach arms overhead and back until elbows almost lock out and you feel a stretch in your abs. Explosively throw the ball onto the floor and catch it on the rebound. Move explosively.

4. Chest Press

How to do it: Grasp the bar just outside shoulder-width apart and arch your back so there’s space between your low back and the bench. Unrack the barbell, holding it with arms perpendicular to your body, then lower it to your sternum, tucking your elbows about 45 degrees to your sides. When the bar touches your chest, drive your feet into the floor and press the bar back up to the starting position.

Start Your Engines: Formula DRIFT Kicks Off Its Season in Atlanta

Formula DRIFT—America’s fastest-growing motorsport—kicks off its 2021 season next weekend at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta on May 7-8 with the Royal Purple Road to the Championship presented by O’Reilly Auto Parts.

For those unfamiliar with the sport, drivers run in pairs through a series of turns. They’re judged on speed, line through the turns, proximity to the clipping points, and how close they can get to the other car. It’s a tire-burning, high-speed elimination sport using 1,200 horsepower cars that take no prisoners if mistakes are made.

The sport of drifting originated in Japan and was introduced at a professional level in 2003 by Formula DRIFT. The opening round of its first full season in 2004 was held at the famous Road Atlanta course, which remains a favorite for fans and drivers alike. In fact, it’s remained on the FD calendar every year, with the exception of the COVID-shortened 2020 season.

The track has a number of unique characteristics. For example, it’s the only of the eight venues visited this year that has an elevation change equivalent to a six-story climb—something that forces drivers to adapt their drift style to accommodate as it rises and falls. At 650 feet, it also has the longest entry to the first turn, which means it has the highest entry speed. And with cars accelerating at full throttle, the drivers must be totally committed to initiate the first drift by throwing the car sideways at well over 100 mph.

Located in the green hills of Braselton, GA, Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta is renowned for its relaxed atmosphere, while the Formula DRIFT event has become legendary for its tailgating parties and festival atmosphere. It’s also one of the loudest crowds at any of the year’s venues, so fans always enjoy a great atmosphere. COVID-19 restrictions have limited crowd sizes somewhat, and social distancing is required, but it’ll be awesome to see fans back in the grandstands cheering for their favorite drivers again. And visitors will enjoy the incredible night-time atmosphere, which can only be described as “electrifying.” Visit the Formula DRIFT website for event details, ticket purchases, COVID requirements, and more.

Unlike some domestic motorsports, Formula DRIFT is an all-weather event—rain or shine, we send it! A wet track won’t stop the drivers, but it does add another variable to keep everybody guessing about who the winner will be.

Last time the teams visited, Fredric Aasbo (Norway) was the winner, putting his skills learned on frozen lakes to good use. As the runner-up for three consecutive years, the 2015 FD Champion is always a serious contender. This will be his first ATL outing in the 1,100 horsepower Rockstar Energy Drink/Toyota GR Supra he debuted last year and he always means business.

Another man to watch is the newly crowned 2020 Formula DRIFT Champion, Vaughn Gittin Jr (USA) in the Monster Energy/Ford Mustang RTR Spec 5-D. His battles with Aasbo have been legendary but Gittin never pulls his punches, even against teammate Chelsea DeNofa (USA) in the almost identical BC Racing / Nitto Tire / Ford Mustang RTR Spec 5-D. DeNofa finished 2020 in second place but not until they’d both received bloody noses in battles throughout the season.

With three other former FD Champions in the mix, there’s no such thing as an easy heat as the top 32 PRO category drivers are eliminated in head-to-head battles until the round winner is crowned.

Formula DRIFT fans can watch the opening round in person over the weekend of May 7-8 at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta in Braselton, GA. Those who can’t attend can enjoy the free-to-view livestream broadcast, available on both days for qualifying and the elimination heats. With hundreds of thousands of spectators tuning in around the world, there’s always plenty of action and catch.

The livestream is available via the Formula DRIFT website, the FD YouTube page or FD Facebook page. Check out the schedule on the homepage and we’ll join you online for the season kick off party!

Manufacturers like Patagonia have been at the forefront of the movement to create sustainable, eco-conscious businesses. Now, many other outdoor gear and apparel brands are following suit. Having just rung in Earth Day, and heading into a summer with an anticipated increase in outdoor-rec users, it’s time to gear up and discover new outdoor fashion and goods without super-sizing your environmental footprint. PhenQ Review: Helps Decrease Fat & Promotes Lean Muscle

In our modern society, obesity is an increasingly large problem, and it is not easy to deal with, whether that be actually losing weight by exercising or taking supplements like PhenQ or just talking about it and looking for advice. Even if you are staring down the road ahead, it is full of uncertainties, doubt, and both challenges and a bit of suffering.

Losing weight is hard. And life is not easy when you are overweight. It tends to crush self-esteem and causes some moments of depression and social anxiety because you differ from normal in a negative way that it seems so easy to change from an outsider’s perspective.

On top of this, it simply isn’t healthy. Being overweight has a large amount of negative health problems associated with it. This ranges from heart problems, high blood pressure, blood clots, stroke, sundry cardiovascular issues, asthma, diabetes, and so forth.

The list doesn’t really end, and a great number of them can be fatal. For some, this is why they can muster the will to lose weight.

But sometimes will alone doesn’t do it, and there’s so much misinformation out there, from diets that don’t work to exercise plans that steal your money to weight loss pills that lie to you. Day in, day out, people want to take your clicks and your money, if they can.

However, we believe that this product, PhenQ, with the info we have, does work. It’s not a sugar pill placebo. It’s designed to help you lose weight, with natural remedies that work off of telling your body how to fix itself.

In this article, we will review PhenQ, its ingredients, the upsides, the downsides, and how best to use it. We want to help you make the right choice for you, and that includes deciding whether or not PhenQ is right for you, personally.

PhenQ Reviews: Brand Overview

PhenQ is not exactly a traditional weight loss supplement. See, unlike regular supplements, PhenQ has a few different focuses. Specifically, it works to suppress appetite, boost energy, burn fat, and prevent the fat from re-forming. They made it by performing research on a variety of botanical extracts, vitamins, and minerals, then making the best product they could from the results.

For example, one of their main ingredients, α-Lacys Reset, has shown that, by itself, it can burn 7.24% of their body fat, 3.44% of their weight, and increase muscle mass by 3.8%, all very attractive qualities.

And, again, that is one ingredient, by itself, doing all that; once we throw in the rest of the ingredients, we can expect an even greater effect. On top of all of this, these are natural ingredients, not synthetics, which makes them exceptionally safe, as we’ve mentioned previously.

PhenQ is a product made from science, with a focus on being the best it can, and the company that makes it pays close attention to this. It hires the best people to make the best product, with every discipline from health consultants to fitness experts to nutritionists represented.

And it’s also worth mentioning the deals and discounts you can get from buying this product, which we’ll go into more detail on later.

Pros:

  • All-natural ingredients, making them safer than synthetic alternatives
  • Produced by a reputable company, not a scammer with a fake business who can disappear at will
  • Shows results relatively quickly
  • In addition to oxidizing fat, it is also a good source of calcium
  • It can help fight appetite and boost energy
  • It has a 60-day money-back guarantee, so you can get a refund if it doesn’t work
  • It doesn’t require any form of prescription to order
  • Voted as #1 best fat burner by Men’s Journal

Cons:

  • It is not suitable for children or pregnant/nursing mothers and specifically warns against their usage of the product.
  • Has caffeine as an ingredient, which is a stimulant that can cause sleeping problems if you take it near bedtime
  • It can be purchased through their site alone and nowhere else

Ingredients of PhenQ

Like any good supplement company, they advertise the specific ingredients they use with absolute confidence. We’re going to list what they are and their effects to better inform you of the product.

  • Capsicum Extract

Capsicum Extract, which comes from certain peppers, such as chili peppers. It has thermogenic properties, which boost your body heat, which has a couple of effects.

The main thing this does is boost the rate at which your body metabolizes fat and conducts other metabolic processes, which are already quite good. However, on top of this, it also has appetite-reducing properties, making it easier and more convenient to eat less food.

  • Caffeine

Caffeine, which as we all know, is a commonly found natural stimulant. In other words, it boosts mental clarity and energy levels, as well as boosting the rate at which your body does things.

Now, “things” is quite broad, but think of it as having a similar effect to increasing your body heat, though with less fat-burning properties. In addition to this, it can help suppress your appetite as well.

  • Vitamin B3

Vitamin B3, also known as Niacin, helps convince your body to burn food for energy instead of keeping it around as stored adipose tissue or fat. This effect works better if you exercise; even taking a walk can help boost the effect of niacin to better help you lose weight.

Of course, it can increase hunger because your body will burn through food quicker, but that’s where the other ingredients’ appetite suppress properties come into play.

  • Piperine

Piperine, which comes from black pepper, is another compound with thermogenic properties, meaning it raises your body heat and helps burn fat. On top of this, it has other beneficial properties. First off, it may help prevent the formation of new adipose tissue cells, and second, it can help regulate obesity-induced dyslipidemia, a condition where you have an abnormally high amount of fats inside your blood.

  • Chromium Picolinate

Chromium Picolinate, a compound found in all sorts of foodstuffs, can help control your desire for carbs and sugars, which can help regulate blood sugar levels. It does this by increasing cellular sugar uptake, which, again, reduces cravings for carbohydrates.

  • Nopal

Nopal, which has a high fiber content. Fiber can do a couple of things for you. First, it aids in regular and normal bowel movements, and on top of that, it increases how long you stay full after you eat.

Nopal cactus, itself, has its own benefits, such as having a large concentration of essential amino acids and helping to cut down water weight. Those amino acids can help boost a lot of health factors, but primarily they’ll work on increasing energy levels.

  • L-Carnitine Fumarate

L-Carnitine Fumarate, another compound commonly found in food, is an amino acid that aids the burning of fat to produce energy. This can help make up for the caloric shortfall caused by dieting with the goal of weight loss, burning fat stores to keep the rest of your body working optimally. It can also help boost energy levels!

  • Calcium Carbonate

Calcium Carbonate, which is good for your bones and is a chemical messenger. Calcium carbonate, when it contacts the brain, tells it that the body is full up on fats, and it should get to burning fat. Your brain will also suppress appetite to avoid wasting food when you already have enough fat to burn at the moment for energy and nutrients.

  • α-Lacys Reset

α-Lacys Reset, which is a combination of other compounds and an element, namely Alpha-Lipoic Acid, Cysteine Base, and Magnesium. These three, working together, aid metabolism and thermogenesis, or increasing body heat. These two factors, as discussed previously, boost fat burning in the body by quite a bit because the fat is what is burned for heat.

PhenQ’s Mechanisms of Weight Loss

These 9 ingredients are what PhenQ uses to give you its benefits, but what even are its benefits? We’ve mentioned them briefly, but here is where we tell you the specifics of its effects and why they’re useful for achieving weight loss if needed.

  • Fat Burning

First and most importantly, PhenQ uses its ingredients, such as Piperine and capsicum, to facilitate the burning of fat in your body.

Specifically, it does this by boosting your metabolism’s speed and by turning up your body temperature, which the two effects compound on each other. Why this is desirable in a weight-loss product is, I imagine, self-explanatory.

  • Prevention of Fat-Building Mechanisms

Your body builds up fat for a variety of reasons to maintain what it views as your “normal,” but that’s what we’re looking to avoid here.

So, PhenQ uses ingredients like Piperine that keep new adipose tissue from forming where the old tissue has already burnt away. This lets you keep your gains, or rather, your losses, much more easily.

  • Appetite Suppression

Without massive levels of biochemical control that aren’t readily achievable, you’re still going to have to eat less while you’re on a supplement to reach its full effect.

Thankfully, there are ways to make eating less a breeze; if you’re less hungry, you’re going to eat less with no hunger pangs or discomfort.

And so, PhenQ works to keep your appetite low, such as through the mechanisms of high fiber or via calcium carbonate, to keep you on track.

  • Energy Boosting

On a diet, you tend to have energy and fatigue issues due to the effects of caloric restriction. Thankfully, PhenQ is designed with this in mind, with energy-boosting agents such as caffeine present to give you a boost and keep you from being lethargic from dieting. Plus, it can help give you the energy you need to work out!

  • Mood Enhancement

On top of diets making you feel tired, losing weight can have negative mental effects, such as feeling depressed or having mood swings.

So, PhenQ uses ingredients that help promote a calm, even mental state to help keep you from experiencing such negative mental states while dieting, keeping you en route to your goal.

Who Can Benefit from PhenQ?

PhenQ is made from natural, botanical ingredients, which tend to be quite a bit safer than synthetic chemicals and is made to benefit men and women alike. In addition, due to being made out of plants alone, it is possible to use this product without breaking a vegan, vegetarian, or similar diet.

Also, unlike some other pills, PhenQ won’t interfere with birth control pills, meaning you can simultaneously use both without worrying about one compromising the other.

However, PhenQ isn’t for everyone. For example, pregnant and breastfeeding women should not use this product, as weight gain during pregnancy and while breastfeeding is natural and healthy.

Next, children under 18 should avoid it due to these formative years being particularly vulnerable to chemical imbalances. Finally, if you have a chronic illness or are on any kind of medication, you need to see a doctor to see if you can use PhenQ safely because it might be a health hazard with certain medicines or conditions.

Benefits of PhenQ

Now, we’ve covered its weight loss effects, but now we’re going to cover its general benefits, which may overlap, but we are confident that this section is still going to be very informative and helpful to you.

  • Improved Mood and Boosted Energy Levels

First off, as we’ve mentioned previously, it can help boost your mood and energy levels, which is a result of both the agents themselves and from fat being burned. After all, fat is just condensed biological energy, which is why working out helps so much!

  • Mental Health Benefits

Weight loss and its process can be stressful, as we’ve talked about, and PhenQ helps keep you on an even keel. Plus, this is always useful, because who couldn’t use a little less stress and a little more peace of mind?

  • Increased Confidence

When achieving weight loss, and when you begin to show it (typically in a month, with PhenQ), you’ll often see that your level of confidence and self-esteem go up correspondingly because now your body is beginning to be something to be proud of. It’s something you earned, and something good that you earned, and having confidence in yourself again always feels great.

  • Natural and Healthy Weight Loss

As we’ve mentioned before, all of these ingredients are safe, healthy, and straight from nature. It works by telling your body to run certain processes and run certain ways to burn fat more efficiently. With no synthetic chemicals in here, you have much less to worry about than with other synthetic, weight loss supplements.

  • 60-Day Money-Back Guarantee

Should PhenQ fail you, or you just aren’t happy with it, you can return it anytime within 60 days. You should start seeing results within 30, so that’s more than enough time to verify whether or not it works, and then go and get your money back, just like that.

Side Effects

Now, it should be noted that while these ingredients are natural and generally safe, you can have some side effects, typically none too severe, and some go away after a few days of usage.

First, you have potential allergies. Some of the ingredients in PhenQ can trigger allergies, especially chromium picolinate, so if this happens, just return your pills. It isn’t worth the health risk.

Second, you have headaches and nausea. These two symptoms occur within the first about a week of using PhenQ, if at all, and go away over time. They are caused by the high doses of medicinal ingredients that your body isn’t used to, and you will acclimate to them shortly.

Finally, you may have issues sleeping, but this generally only happens if you take the pill after 3 pm. In other words, if you take it in the morning and at lunch like you’re supposed to, you’ll have energy during the day without having problems at night.

Who Should Avoid PhenQ?

PhenQ, sadly, is not usable by everyone. First, anyone below 18 is a no-go because a child’s biochemistry is more vulnerable to disruption than an adult’s, as they are still growing and developing.

Second, pregnant and breastfeeding mothers, as not only is the weight gain a natural part of this stage of motherhood, but some of the ingredients may affect the baby through the umbilical cord or through your breastmilk, making it bad for you and your child.

Finally, if you have a pre-existing condition or are on medication, you should ask a doctor to make sure that PhenQ won’t have any negative interactions or cause harm to you.

PhenQ Dosage and User’s Guide

As we mentioned in brief before, the recommended dosage schedule is one with breakfast, and the second with lunch, no later than 3 pm to avoid sleep issues. Take your pill with plenty of water; water helps the pill work and keeps you healthy. Each bottle has a month’s worth of tablets, and typically within 3 months, there are reports of noticeable results.

Again, there may be some side effects, especially in the first few days of use, so as long as they aren’t too severe, just carry on through them as best as you can. Also, weight loss isn’t fast and requires you to be patient, consistent, and determined to achieve it.

Since PhenQ focuses on burning fat and releases all the energy that was stored in the adipose tissue, you need to exercise. If you don’t, it will negatively affect your progress to losing weight, and you can’t gain a truly nice-looking body without some musculature.

Note, if you miss a dose, don’t double up. Doubling the dose at once is not great, and the pills need some space to work their best, so either try and fit another dose in or just skip that dose on that day and make double sure not to tomorrow.

This advice also applies to taking more at once to get faster results; it doesn’t work and can put you at risk if you take way too many. If you double dose, you’ll probably just be uncomfortable, but it’s still not pleasant.

It should be noted that PhenQ doesn’t just start working noticeably at the same time for everyone; all of our bodies and lifestyles are different, and these things work at different rates.

Finally, when you reach your desired weight, you can stop taking the pills. Just remember to keep your diet normal and track your weight by an average of weeks, not over days, as daily fluctuations are normal.

Pricing and How to Buy PhenQ?

PhenQ can be bought on their website, with quite a number of deals. If you buy one bottle, as of the time of writing, you can save up to 10 dollars. If you buy two, you get another bottle free, and you save up to 100 dollars.

And if you buy three, you get two bottles free, as well as a free Advana Cleanse, for up to 210 dollars of savings. US dollars, mind you.

On top of this, it has a 60-day money-back guarantee, so if you don’t like it, you can just get your money back, just like that. Just remember to read the fine print on these things, as a general rule.

PhenQ Review: Conclusion

PhenQ is one of the well-reviewed weight loss supplements with lots of glowing reviews of it, with their manufacturer being approved worldwide for their selection of high-quality products.

It has no severe side effects, assuming you’re not allergic (rub it on your skin before use to check), and what side effects it does have go away after a few days of use. Well, and you have to take it before 3 pm, but that’s not too hard to do.

Not to mention, the results it brings you will last after you stop taking PhenQ, so long as you keep staying healthy, eating right, and exercising.

If you’re looking for a weight loss product, I’d recommend trying out PhenQ and seeing if this is the product that lets you finish your weight loss journey as the best you can be.

Get a Free COVID-19 Vax and Beer With Buffalo's 'Shot and a Chaser' Program

Across the country, government officials are looking for innovative ways to encourage people to get COVID-19 vaccines. In Erie County, NY, home to Buffalo, they’ve started up a new program that combines COVID-19 vaccines with free beer. Appropriately enough, they’re calling it “Shot and a Chaser.”

The first pop-up Shot and Chaser clinic will be held May 8 at the Resurgence Brewing Co. in South Buffalo. Attendees can get their first dose of the Moderna vaccine in the parking lot, then head into the brewery for a beverage of their choice. At Resurgence, they can pick from beers like Cosmic Truth or McKinley’s Revenge. There will be 300 slots available for sign up. And, after that first shot and beer, people can come back four weeks later for their second dose and second beer.

“We understand our constituents. We know, especially with our younger constituents, they need a little incentive,” says Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz.

For the county, which announced their program on social media with a Homer Simpson “MMM…BEER” image, it’s a way to help local businesses and keep citizens healthy.

“We believe we can support our local brewers, who had a tough year last year, as well as get people vaccinated,” Poloncarz says.

Erie County is not the first to offer a vaccine bonus, as across the country, businesses and brands are giving away everything from free Krispy Kreme donuts and Samuel Adams beer to marijuana edibles and vaccination card lamination.

“We just saw the state of West Virginia is doing a $100 savings bond,” Poloncarz says. “Good for them.”

The county has also signed up Flying Bison Brewing Company for a vaccine pop-up, but no date has been set. Poloncarz says they are looking for more breweries to take part in a program that’s perfectly suited to the area.

“This is Buffalo. We love our beer.”

Meet the People Working Tirelessly to Protect Our Public Lands

The American pact with its wide-open spaces seems simple enough: This land is your land, this land is my land. Such a noble ideal, in reality, is anything but simple to manage. However you weigh the value of public and private interests, recreation and industry, preservation and progress, we all can recognize that once wild lands are lost, they are not likely to return. It’s easy to say that our country’s natural wonders deserve protection. Meet the men on the front line, actually doing the hard work. These eight public land defenders have chosen paths that put them squarely in the fight, and often squarely in the path of real danger. As defenders who battle wildfires or track wild horses, expose polluters or face down injustice, that loss of nature is not an option.

The Riverkeeper: Kemp Burdette

The key to catching alligators is patience and solid core strength. At least, that’s how Kemp Burdette tells it. “They’re pissed when you hook them, rolling and running, but they don’t have a lot of stamina,” he says, describing how he brought in an 11-foot gator with a deep-sea fishing rig on the edge of North Carolina’s Cape Fear River—wearing it out,  then slowly dragging it in.

As Cape Fear River Watch’s full-time Riverkeeper, Burdette and a team of NC State scientists were on the clock, holding down the primordial beast so  they could test it for traces of chemicals discharged upstream. Such risks aren’t new to the former Navy rescue swimmer and Peace Corps volunteer who returned to his home state to try to clean up “the Fear.”

The 9,000-square-mile river system provides drinking water to 1 in 5 North Carolinians and hosts wildlife that also includes pelicans and manatees, but is plagued by a massive chemical facility, coal-fired power plants and the largest pig slaughterhouse in the world.

Most days, Burdette kayaks the Fear or its tributaries, taking water samples. Other days, he’s navigating waves of coal ash as they flood into the river, or he’s in a small airplane, flying above farms to look for improper waste disposal.

In the last decade, Burdette has helped remove coal ash ponds from public lands, forced DuPont to stop dumping chemicals, and worked tirelessly to reduce the impact of the swine and poultry industry that operates largely unchecked on the river’s banks—a job with no finish line in sight. “I love it here,” says Burdette, “but this river needs help.” — Graham Averill

Will Gadd ice climbing in Greenland in bright red jacket
“These huge features we think of as permanent are not,” says Gadd, seen here climbing in Greenland in 2018. “They’re melting like the ice in your drink.” CHRISTIAN PONDELLA/RED BULL CONTENT POOL

The Ice Man: Will Gadd

Will Gadd has scored plenty of personal bests in myriad adventure pursuits—first descents as a pro kayaker, two world records as a pro paraglider, three X Games golds and the first ascent of a frozen Niagara Falls as an ice climber.

Recently, though, Gadd has applied his prodigious skills to the greater good for public lands, working with scientists studying the impact of climate change. He has helped researchers explore caves beneath Canada’s Athabasca Glacier, an endeavor that discovered a new life-form (a biofilm on the cave walls). And he has climbed below the Greenland Ice Sheet with scientists to learn how ice melt might impact sea levels.

“As an athlete, a lot of what we do isn’t useful,” says 53-year-old Gadd. “I feel like I can be genuinely useful to these scientists in these harsh environments, helping them move around and conduct research.”

Will Gadd walking way from orange tents with iceberg in the distance
CHRISTIAN PONDELLA/RED BULL CONTENT POOL

Gadd understands that climate change often can be an abstract. For ice climbers, it’s a harsh reality wreaking havoc on renowned destinations. Take Mount Kilimanjaro: Since 1912, roughly 90 percent of the glacier atop Africa’s highest peak has melted. In 2014, Gadd climbed Kilimanjaro’s ice fins, vertical slabs of isolated ice jutting from the sand. He returned in 2020 to reclimb those same fins, rebuild a weather station with a climate scientist and bag the last ascent of the Messner Route (the mountain’s famed ice route). But the fins were all but gone already.

Jeremy Jones is on a mission to save the planet, including his beloved mountains, from the effects of climate change.

Gadd sees the issue back home, too, with North American glaciers retreating at an accelerating rate. Montana’s Glacier National Park, the largest collection of permanent ice in the Lower 48, has only 25 remaining glaciers, down from 150 in 1850. The glaciers that crown Rocky Mountain National Park and Glacier Bay National Park are in the same sinking boat.

Sure, that loss of ice is a problem for climbers, Gadd says, “but the bigger issue is for cities that rely on seasonal ice- and snowmelt for their water.” — Graham Averill

The Cowboy Conservationist: Greg Hendricks

Greg Hendricks has been hunkered down, silent, amid Nevada desert scrub for hours. Now, finally, the latter-day cowboy’s quarry is near. He stealthily shoulders his rifle, adjusts its sights and shoots a wild mustang mare. And the people who love these horses love him for doing it.

That’s because he’s firing darts filled with the birth control substance PZP.

Feral horse roaming the Southwest's grassy plains

See, the Southwest is home to some 95,000 feral horses and burros descended from those brought to the Americas by the Spanish 500 years ago. And as much as there’s no better symbol of unbridled freedom than wild horses, they also graze for 16 hours a day and reproduce prolifically, straining scant desert resources and riling cattle ranchers on both private and public lands.

For five decades, the U.S. Bureau of Land Management has used low-flying helicopters to round up mustangs into pens, which regularly causes stampedes and grisly deaths. Even so, wild herd numbers often increase after a roundup.

“It’s a sad, gruesome thing to see,” says Hendricks, director of field operations for the American Wild Horse Campaign.

PZP is a cheap, safe and humane way to keep herd sizes sustainable. The tough part is getting close enough to a feral horse to dart it, requiring frigid mornings in rugged terrain, plenty of lukewarm coffee and damn good aim. The greatest hazard can be crossing paths with ranchers who harbor a sizable distrust of interlopers, be they animal or human.

Hendricks remains steadfast, building a team that’s darted 1,300 mares with permission on private lands. The next step is to broaden the program onto public lands overseen by the Bureau, which still relies on mass herding.

“These horses are a part of our history,” he says. “They’ve survived for hundreds of years out here, and they’re still surviving. They’ve earned it.” — Adam Popescu

The Hell Fighter: Jeff Denholm

As wildfires ravaged California last August, the CZU Lightning Complex fire began to burn through Bonny Doon, turning the wooded surfers’ haven northwest of Santa Cruz into a particular shade of nightmare.

Cal Fire crews were occupied with other blazes, unable to reach the town of 3,000 for several days. “It was a bad scene, man,” says Jeff Denholm, a Bonny Doon local who leases a fleet of fire engines to the U.S. Forest Service. Fortuitously, Denholm is also the founder and CEO of Atira Systems, maker of the next-gen, non-toxic fire suppressant Strong Water.

The gel-like substance, which clings to trees and smothers flames, is intended to be delivered via a helicopter-mounted cannon—an item in short supply as hell approached. But Denholm did have a truck rigged to spray the suppressant. Ignoring evacuation orders, he and his neighbors managed to save many homes, including his own.

The battle brought new urgency to Denholm’s work developing tactics to fight a frightening trend. “Wildfire propensity is forecast to increase tenfold in the next three decades,” says Denholm. “That’s six months of smoke a year. We can’t live that way. We need this technology.”

The Native Voice: Hank Stevens

Hank Stevens has already witnessed the toxic contamination caused by a 20th-century boom in uranium mining on his cultural homeland—sacred sites and hunting grounds in southeastern Utah. As president of the Navajo Mountain Chapter of the Navajo Nation, he has been working for years to save the nearby public lands of Bears Ears National Monument from the same fate.

Stevens also co-chairs the Bears Ears Inter-Tribal Coalition, made up of Hopi, Zuni, Navajo and Ute tribes. As its Navajo representative, he’s organized decision-makers and traveled to spread the urgent message of what’s at stake. Bears Ears is a sacred site not just for the tribes, but anyone wishing to experience the glories of its natural state.

The coalition successfully petitioned the Obama administration for federal protections for Bears Ears, the first designated monument proposed by Native American leaders. And after the Trump administration’s drastic reduction of Bears Ears’ protected acreage, the group steadfastly defended the region from an aggressive oil, gas and mining agenda.

The result? President Biden’s executive order to review again the monument’s boundaries.

“The next opportunity is now,” says Stevens. — Cassidy Randall

The Super Arborist: Drew Peterson

When wildfire whips through a forest, tens of thousands of giant pine and fir trees, often still burning, must be felled in order for ground crews to gain access, and locals to safely escape.

“These are the jobs you don’t tell your mom about,” says Drew Peterson, Oregon-based tree climber and self-pro-claimed Swiss Army knife for the U.S. Forest Service. “You are working to get trees down that are nearly burned through. The risk can be pretty staggering.”

Though Peterson’s specialty is taking out such hazardous trees, the USFS also has tapped the elite rock climber for another vital conservation task—saving endangered tree species that are threatened by fire, drought or disease. Often his goal is to return to terra firma with critical genetic material that gets distributed to seed-bank vaults around the world.

“I can’t really call myself an environmental activist,” admits Peterson. “My personality is more keeping my head down and hands dirty.”

For one mission, he packed his climbing gear and shipped out to California’s Channel Islands National Park to collect cones from the Torrey pine—one of the most endangered tree species in North America. Despite high winds and long pack-outs, he returned with bags full of the pineapple-size cones: “It was basically the arborist equivalent of a Patagonian climbing adventure,” says Peterson. — Nancy Bouchard

The Wilderness Sheperd: George Schaller

Explore the wilds with George Schaller—the world’s greatest living field biologist—and you’ll quickly pick up on his indefatigable sense of mission. While trekking the Arctic in 2006, the then-septuagenarian moved with the same enthusiasm and limber grace as the grad students in his wake, pausing only to pull apart grizzly scats, measure tree trunks and note all in his pocket-size journal.

For more than six decades, he’s endured countless storms, hellacious insects and civil wars in a storied career that he calls “roaming around watching animals.” His gentle yet tenacious advocacy fostered the creation of more than 20 refuges around the globe that protect large creatures besieged by habitat loss, over-hunting and climate change. Armed only with notebook and camera, working in close quarters amid wild teeth and claws, Schaller believes that focusing on charismatic megafauna can extend protection to all important species on public lands, even down to scant arachnid species like the newly discovered Liocheles schalleri, given his surname.

Possessed of less aversion to self-promotion, George Schaller could be a household name. His 1950s graduate fieldwork in Alaska led to the creation of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. He steered Jane Goodall and Dian Fossey to their breakthrough work with great apes. And after leading his friend Peter Matthiessen through the Himalayas, he became the semi-anonymous protagonist “GS” in Matthiessen’s 1978 classic, The Snow Leopard. Schaller himself would write 22 books and publish hundreds of articles that further buttressed his devotion to saving wildlife and public lands.

The Border Guardian: Gabe Vasquez

Gabe Vasquez first learned a love for the outdoors from his grandfather—hunting in Mexico’s Sierra Madre and fishing on the Rio Grande. After immigrating to the United States at age 10, Vasquez watched the magnificent Grande, the lifeblood of so many border communities, diverted and divided as the river became a front in battles over immigration policy.

Now a city councilor in Las Cruces, NM, Vasquez founded the Nuestra Tierra Conservation Project in 2017 to ensure that those same communities maintain access to public lands, and play a central role in their conservation, rather than remaining excluded.

He guides decision-makers to experience this marginalized region that encompasses some of North America’s most biodiverse landscape of grasslands, deserts and forests—home not to drug runners and migrants but to mountain lions and mule deer.

He’s also fostering the next policy influencers, expanding opportunities that “make you love a place” by taking local Hispanic youths rafting and hunting, or hiking Organ Mountain Desert Peaks National Monument, which he played a key role in establishing in 2014. “It’s incumbent upon us to make sure that more of our young people can have those experiences. — Cassidy Randall

Young Guns: The Next Generation of Public Lands Defenders

1. Tanner Saul

Age: 25

Homebase: Missoula, MT

Cause: Tracking wildlife

Purpose: To tag a 500-pound grizzly for study, somebody has to jump out of the helicopter—often it’s Saul, who started collaring mountain lions with the Park Service while still in high school. That led to working with wolves in Montana and caracals in Africa, always looking to make a difference, “whether it is protecting [wildlife] from disease or extinction or human pressure,” says Saul, who now hosts A Wilder View on Montana Television Network.

2. Sammy Gensaw

Age: 26

Homebase: Yurok Reservation, CA

Cause: River revival

Purpose: Gensaw doesn’t just view the upcoming demolition of four of the Klamath River’s six dams in California and Oregon as the culmination of a decades-long struggle. The cofounder of the Ancestral Guard, an outdoors-oriented network of indigenous peoples, calls it no less than a “restorative revolution” that will help develop local foodways and teach youths the traditional fishing skills strained by the dams’ decimation of salmon and steelhead populations.

3. Fred Campbell

Age: 33

Homebase: Seattle

Cause: Elevating climbs

Purpose: Playing football at Stanford, Campbell suffered a broken neck. When he healed and took up climbing instead, he found a sport with the power to change lives—especially so as a person of color in the vertical world. The data scientist and team climber for The North Face now uses his platform to inspire new climbers. The more diverse the backgrounds in the outdoors, Campbell explains, the stronger the population “to protect public lands and fight climate change.” — Nancy Bouchard
