Travis Barker on His New Music, Car Collection and Building a 'Batmobile'
At any given time, Travis Barker has plenty of irons in the fire. While best-known as the drummer for the popular rock band, Blink-182, Barker is constantly pursuing new ideas and collaborations.
A year ago, he launched his own record label––DTA Records––and signed new artist jxdn. Earlier this year, he collaborated with Machine Gun Kelly, and helped produce MGK’s acclaimed new album, Tickets to My Downfall.
Recently, Barker revealed another successful collaboration––a custom Polaris Slingshot that looks like a real-life Batmobile. Barker personally designed this tricked-out whip as part of a build-off competition––Polaris Slingshot’s Best of the Builders West vs. East––that pitted DUB Publishing and Travis Barker (West) against The Auto Firm and Teyana Taylor (East).
We recently caught up with Barker to get the scoop on his new ride, what makes the West Coast the best coast for car culture, and what he’s been up to in the studio.
MJ: What have you been working on in 2020?
At the end of last year, like the day after Christmas, I got in the studio with Kels [Machine Gun Kelly] and didn’t really have a set plan. But we got in and recorded what was to become, Ticket to my Downfall. We wrapped that up right before quarantine and then just made videos during quarantine.
I primarily spent the majority of the year producing and writing music. So yeah, working with everyone from MGK, Iann Dior, POORSTACY and signing my own artist, Jxdn, to DTA records. So I’ve just been really focused on writing and producing.
MJ: 2020 has been such a difficult year. But what has it been like to mostly just focus on writing and being in the studio?
I’m really sad for the people who have gotten sick and unfortunately the people we’ve lost. Thankfully, my family, my kids and my friends have been healthy. But for me being home, I’ve been able to do things I’ve never been able to do, because I’ve toured for the last 20 years of my life, every summer.
So I’ve got to do things I have never dreamed of or imagined, just from being home. It’s been really incredible. Writing and producing is something I’m always passionate about, but time usually permits me to only do it with the band I’m playing in.
I miss playing shows and just like, the energy. But I also love the creative part of being a musician. Writing music and challenging yourself production-wise to make things sound different––that really keeps me going. It moves me.
MJ: Beyond music, we know you’re also a big car guy and have your own collection. Where did this passion for collecting cars come from?
I think the passion came from my pops. My dad always liked to talk about old cars that he had or reminisce about cars he wanted. So when I started making a little money, I would buy a lot of old-schools for fairly cheap and just fix them up. I guess that’s where it started.
As time went on, I saw brand new cars that I loved and just everything from off-road 4×4 vehicles to low riders to luxurious cars. I’ve kind of had them all. And it’s definitely something that I’m still really passionate about.
MJ: When you were asked to customize a Polaris Slingshot for this West v. East Build-Off, how’d you come up with the concept for your ride?
Right now, I’ve basically focused on having all black cars, for whatever reason. I can’t really explain why, it’s just something that came to me one day and I was like, ‘I don’t want any car unless it’s black.’ So that’s kind of why I did the Polaris all black and murdered out.
I was like, how do I make the Slingshot as cool as it could possibly be. And I just think murdering one out, but still having these details when you really get up on it, like, ‘Oh, cool. I see gun shell print on that. Or I see there’s matte on there, but there’s also glossy black.
When I first came to Myles [Kovacs], who I’ve known from DUB and is a dear friend of mine, he was like, ‘Oh I’m thinking we go with this burgundy/maroon.’ And I was like, ‘No man, that’s not me. But we can murder it out.’
It had to look like a villain’s car.
MJ: Tell us about a couple of your favorite features that you customized on your Slingshot?
There’s some aftermarket speakers on it and we redid the interior. We shaved parts of the body off and added places for speakers on the body. We finished the interior to where everything wraps around and customized it with my “F” badge (Barker’s clothing brand, Famous Stars and Straps). We made it kind of luxurious inside.
We also put the biggest tires and rims we could possibly fit on there––I think they’re 22s. And also an air ride suspension, just so you could dump it when you’re parked.
We also wanted to be creative with the type of pattern used. I think I proposed like a cheetah pattern and there was another pattern I proposed. But this gun shell print was hard and it just stuck out. We’ve never seen that on another vehicle.
MJ: Is that Slingshot eventually headed to your car collection?
Yeah, that’s definitely going in my collection.
MJ: How large is your collection nowadays?
Right now I have eight [cars] but I used to have 16. I had 16 at the beginning of last year and I was just in a place where some of the cars––I felt I already had my time with them. I’ve experienced everything I could with this car and I’ve had the greatest times, but it’s time to move on and, you know, let someone else enjoy it.
I don’t really have what’s called, trailer queens––where you just trailer it to shows. I drive everything.
MJ: Which is your favorite car to drive now?
One car that is a lot of fun is the Mercedes G-Wagon 4×4 Squared. They only made it for two years, but people come up to me all the time at gas stations like, ‘Whoa, man, what lift kit is that?’ But it’s not actually, it comes stock from Mercedes. I didn’t do any aftermarket suspension on it myself.
That’s one of my favorites and I’ll probably never give up. It’s a special vehicle.
MJ: What does West Coast style, in terms of car culture, mean to you?
I feel like West Coast, we get to have a little bit more fun with cars. Like I’ve spent time in New York and a lot of people don’t have customized cars or own their cars at all, for that matter. You’re usually driven around or you take taxis.
Whereas West Coast lifestyle is low-riders, Ferrari’s, Lamborghini’s, Jeep’s. You know, we love to drive in Southern California. It doesn’t get so cold that we could never whip out our convertible and go down Sunset with the top down.
So I just really feel like West Coast is car culture.

With a bottle resembling upper-crust cousin champagne, High Life seemed destined to bring grandeur to the masses. During its first few years on the scene, the product was advertised with an illustration of a woman dressed in a ringmaster’s costume, clutching a whip and tray of High Life beers.
Then something happened in 1907. According to company legend, Miller’s advertising manager A.C. Paul was alone and lost in the Northwoods of Wisconsin when he had a powerful vision: The High Life girl sitting in the crook of a crescent moon.
Like a bubbly burst of whatever Paul was drinking—probably High Life—a phenomenon was born. Miller’s Girl in the Moon soon became one of the most recognizable advertising mascots of all time.
For about 60 years, High Life remained the brewery’s flagship beer. During that time, it was priced similar to other premium macros like Budweiser. But after losing market share for years to competitors and newer Miller brands, High Life was taken down a notch. In 1993, it became a value brand that associated with the likes of Busch and PBR.
Vanquished like a social outcast, High Life became the beer of bristly old men, who drove trucks and lamented about the good ol’ days when honest beers were treated like sparkling wine and no one knew what the hell an International Bittering Unit was.
Then the roaring 2000s arrived, and High Life went ironically retro. Eventually, urban dive bars were serving what some call the Low Life special: A High Life with a shot of well whiskey. Slide on down, cans of budget brew, and make space for clear sparkling bottles. The champagne of beers was back, just in time to class things up.
The persistent qualities of High Life are no surprise to some. In 2017, New Jersey’s oldest resident at the time sadly passed away. Agnes Felton had become famous during her final decades, partly for crediting the secret of her longevity to drinking a few bottles of Miller High Life with some Johnnie Walker Blue Label every day.
Fenton lived a remarkable life, being one of the first Black women to own a restaurant in Tennessee. In 1943, after she recovered from a benign tumor, it was her doctor who recommended a daily dosing of the champagne of beers. (History doesn’t record if her doctor discovered this Long Life special in the Northwoods of Wisconsin, but it seems reasonable.)
Possibly in homage to Fenton, and certainly to modern dive bar patrons, a few years ago Miller revived its 1970s High Life slogan: “If you’ve got the time, we’ve got the beer.”

Miles Teller On Flight Training For ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ And Working With Tom Cruise
Miles Teller is no stranger to a little buzz. Since making his mark in Whiplash, the actor has always managed to stay a part of the “ones to watch” conversation. So it is no surprise that he is also involved in the most highly-anticipated movie of the decade: Top Gun: Maverick.
“There is no green screen in a Top Gun movie,” says Teller to Men’s Journal. “Every shot, every stunt, was the result of the work, the real sweat, that we all put into it. The production was over the course of a full year, which was definitely the longest shoot I have ever been a part of.”
Teller assures us that Maverick, now scheduled to release summer of 2021, will be worth the wait for all of those Top Gun fans. The actor decompressed after the intense filming by taking a trip out to Finland late last year with the founders of The Long Drink, the canned-cocktail company he recently became a co-owner and ambassador for. Now he is back to work, and back in the gym, preparing for prison drama Spiderhead with Chris Hemsworth.
We discussed flight training, living on an aircraft carrier, prepping for the next gig, and how a good Finnish sauna-cocktail mix is a great form of recovery.
Once you knew you had the Top Gun gig, when did the flight training start?
I had about three months of flight training before starting the movie. That time was important to get comfortable with the crafts but also to build up our G-force tolerance, because all of the aerial elements were shot practically. The training started in a Cessna, and moved to an Extra 300, a single-prop aerobatics craft, where you start to improve your G-tolerance. From there we got into an L-39 Albatros, flying with these guys called The Patriots, who are the civilian equivalent to the Blue Angels.
Right off the bat, I am flying this fucking plane myself with The Patriots in formation with three other planes around, which just felt insane. I had one jet right above me, so close, and then planes on both wings, then we did a loop while holding that formation. I was holding the stick, and I landed the plane as well.
I stepped out of the craft and said, “Guys, we just met, there is no way you should trust me that much.” I wouldn’t have trusted me.
How did it feel to get up in that F-18?
They would have me go up in a F-18 for an hour or hour and a half, pulling anywhere around seven-and-a-half Gs. Getting to fly around with the best naval aviators in the world.
The F-18 is just a completely different beast. Every element of our training came into play during those sequences, all of the breathing techniques and tolerances. Every single day of the shoot we were really getting after it, up until the very last day people were fainting and puking.
Did you have any additional training that you had to do before getting into a cockpit?
Before we got into the jets, we had to pass the Naval Aviation Survival Training course in San Diego. You learn all the protocols you need to go through if you ever have to eject over the ocean. They drag you across the water, they flip you on your bag, they want to see you able to get out of your harness and much more. That all leads up to the big test they put you through, which is called “The Dunker,” where they put you into a modified helicopter, strap you to a chair, and then submerge this tank underwater.
They blindfold you. Give you a chance to grab your last breath and then they take you down under the surface. Once you are under, they start to flip the tank and you have to prove you can go through the right operations to get out, as calmly as possible. Your partner is in there with you, and together you have to break open the hatch. It feels like some sort of torture chamber to a degree.
What was it like to film those flight sequences?
There was a lot that went into each of the flight scenes. Before we would shoot, we would go into a briefing like the military does, going over each movement and stunt very specifically––what the altitude is going to be, what our speed is going to be.
The stakes are incredibly high, even if you are not actually flying the fighter jet, you need to be aware of every movement, because if the camera is pointed at you and you are even a millisecond off as far as timing, the whole scene is a bust. That means everything from the motion to the eye-line has to be perfect. This is especially the case when it comes to dogfighting, because there are so many factors you need to take into account.
I know you have a strong connection to the military and have portrayed service members before like in Thank You For Your Service. What did it feel like to be a part of a franchise that is such a massive one in terms of public awareness?
The military is in my family, so portraying what they do comes with a special seriousness. I grew up in a pretty small town in Florida, and it was one of those schools where recruiters were around pretty often. That wasn’t the path that I took, but a lot of my close friends did go into the military. Portraying these service members and knowing what they sacrifice gives you a real respect for the life.
I think there is no doubt a divide between active military and civilians these days, as well as veterans. There has been a lot of compassion lost for these military members as well, so if this movie can bring back any of that, it would be well worth it.
What was it like to get to film on an aircraft carrier with actual Navy crew?
I was on one of the aircraft carriers for about two weeks. Doing that really made me empathic to their daily life really made me want to bring that reality to the screen. Being on the carrier itself was gnarly, being in such tight corners. Not that it feels as compact as a submarine, but walking through the quarters, you felt how close that you are to your crew mates constantly.
There are definitely days where you may go without seeing the sun. That was our experience too. There is no way that we could have done this movie without the Navy. The pilots were doing part of their training while they were on the carrier with us, so they were working to pass the qualifications for landing and taking off on a carrier at the time. The mornings on the carrier were early, because we were only getting a few-hour window to film before they started their workday. That would usually be sometime between 6 to 8 in the morning.
How did it feel to witness the fighter pilots at work on the carrier?
I mean is really incredible to see how precise these guys can be when they are flying a rocket. The United States has the only naval entity that launches and catches jets on the carrier.
I will say it is not great for sleeping, because it almost seemed like they were taking off all hours of the night. I was bunking up with Glen Powell. During the night we would just be lying there and you would hear explosions of jet fuel and machines colliding with the deck. Everything on the ship is shaking.
What was that like as far as team building for the cast?
I think the cast got close during that time, going through an experience like that really brings people together. Being there in a highly demanding environment, away from the usual distractions or comforts. It was a bonding experience.
On that note, what was it like working with the man himself, Tom Cruise?
Going in, you know how hard he is going to work. Everyone knows the legend and it’s all legit. He elevates everyone around him. He is so dialed into the details that he not only knows every element of his job, but he knows what is going on in every department, from props to wardrobe. He’s a machine.
How do you think people are going to react to the final product?
Playing Goose’s kid and getting to continue that storyline that was established in such a powerful way all those years ago, there is a lot of history there. I think when audience realizes the character I play is that tiny kid they saw in the original, it is going to hit. I was able to see it a couple weeks ago. The movie just blew me away, and my wife said, “That might be the best film I have ever seen.” She was crying multiple times.
I don’t think it would be possible to recreate what we did with all of the practical flying. You hope to be part of something that lasts forever. I think that we might have done that. It is fun, entertaining, emotional, and high-octane. There is a lot of heart in the story, and I can’t wait for people to see it. For fans of the original, I think they are going to be grinning from ear-to-ear the whole time. This is going to give them what they want.
Did you guys get any off-time to relax and cut it up in a bar like they do in the original?
The naval aviators have a saying: “twelve hours, bottle to throttle”. That is just supposed to get across that you need that amount of time from having a beverage to being flight ready. There were a few times where I had a week or two off and I was in scenarios where I would have really liked to crack a few beers. Or have a Long Drink.
I was at this wedding in Orange County, and I wanted to enjoy it. I was drinking and dancing into the night, but I ended up having to flight train the next morning. It was like 100 degrees and we were doing all of these aerial acrobatics. There is nothing worse than being hung over and pulling G force. It was horrible.
I heard you had a pretty epic trip to Finland with The Long Drink guys.
It was awesome. I brought a couple of buddies with me. I had never really been to that part of the world in that way. The Fins are a lot of fun. They love saunas and they love karaoke. I don’t know if they have a bar that doesn’t have karaoke, because it felt like every one we walked into, someone would start singing eventually.
It is also like the sauna capitol of the world. They would get it up to 200 degrees and then start beating you with eucalyptus leaves. Once it got too hot, we jumped into the Baltic Sea, which was like 38 degrees or something like that. It was a great recovery and felt awesome.
How did you get involved with the company? It is a solid drink, and the fact that it was born out of the 1952 Olympics in Helsinki, it’s got a cool backstory.
I agree. It all really came about after I tried it while I was out in New York. I wanted to learn more, and eventually met the founders. They are a great group of guys. I wasn’t seeking out anything like this, coming on-board as an owner and ambassador. I have gotten those calls before, and never really was compelled to do it. But for this one, I feel like if my name can help get it out there, I am down for that.

The good news is skiing and snowboarding are socially distant by design, and Vail Resorts’ Epic Pass and Alterra Mountain Company’s Ikon Pass are better values than ever.
Epic passholders are prioritized in Vail’s reservation system and Ikon passholders are exempt from ticket-sale restrictions at Alterra resorts. That’s 76 U.S. resorts where you’ll have no trouble ripping laps this winter. Here’s how to pick which pass is right for you.
1. Steep and Deep
If you want to spend your days careening down dizzying pitches, these mountains have some of the most electrifying terrain your heart could desire (and legs can handle).
EPIC PASS
CRESTED BUTTE MOUNTAIN RESORT, CO
The resort’s famed pitches and powder stashes are off the High Lift at Teocalli Bowl and Headwall. For an inbounds, avalanche-controlled area that feels more like a backcountry paradise (think powder pillows, cliff bands, and a few 45-degree lines that require total commitment) head to the North Face.
Stay: The slope-side Elevation Hotel boasts a decked-out pool and spa to nurse sore muscles.
STEVENS PASS, WA
Despite having just 1,800 vertical feet, you still get open glades, corduroy runs, and plenty of steeps, including almost the entire Mill Valley side of the mountain (ideal early on a powder day). For a burly ride, hike 15 minutes from the top of 7th Heaven lift to the peak of Cowboy Mountain.
Stay: There’s no lodging at Stevens Pass; head to the Bavarian Lodge 35 miles east in Leavenworth.
PARK CITY MOUNTAIN RESORT, UT
PCMR is the largest resort in the U.S. and still somehow underrated for its double-black runs, including 10,026-foot Jupiter Peak, a hike-to-only area that’s avalanche controlled by ski patrol. On a powder day, the chutes often get packed with windblown snow, increasing its thrills. Ninety-Nine 90 is also littered with gnarly runs, like Magic Line.
Stay and Eat: Main & SKY is within walking distance to High West Distillery, which, in addition to spirits, offers exceptional food in the adjoining Nelson Cottage.
IKON PASS
JACKSON HOLE MOUNTAIN RESORT, WY
JHMR is the gold standard for lift-accessed backcountry. Book a guide with Jackson Hole Mountain Sports School to explore safely. On the slopes, the Aerial Tram offers 4,139 feet of vertical, and Casper Bowl (not accessible by tram) has some of the most challenging chutes.
Stay: Diehards should go to the Four Seasons at Teton Village for out-the-door access in the morning. Otherwise book the polished Hotel Jackson; it’s in town near the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar.
TAOS SKI VALLEY, NM
Taos is so famous for its steeps, a sign in front of the main lift reads “Don’t worry… we have easy runs too.” The Kachina Peak lift accesses wide-open, high-elevation black-diamond runs, but locals know some of the best shots are hike-to runs along Highline and West Basin.
Stay and Eat: Stay at The Blake, the resort’s new 80-room alpine guesthouse adjacent to Lift 1. Bavarian Restaurant—reminiscent of an Alps chalet— is a can’t-miss après spot, with sauerbraten, wienerschnitzel, and German beers.
ALTA/SNOWBIRD SKI AREAS, UT
At Alta, test yourself and hike Mount Baldy. It’s open only occasionally and requires an hourlong boot pack, but scoring a few fresh turns is worth the sweat. Snowbird has dozens of memorable runs directly off the Tram, but head to Gad 2 chairlift for your pick of steep glades.
Stay: Shell out for a room at The Cliff Lodge at Snowbird; the road up the canyon closes during big storms and, if it does, you’ll have the mountain practically to yourself.
2. Bumps, Jumps, and Beer
Pinball across a mountain, tackling pitches, pillows, moguls, and drops by day, then table your elbows for some warm grub and a frosty beer by night, at these hot spots.
EPIC PASS
TELLURIDE SKI RESORT, CO
Plunge Lift is full of steep glades and egg-carton runs like Kant-Mak-M, with 800 vertical feet of moguls. The hike-to terrain atop the Prospect Express lift has steep, challenging bump runs that mercifully lead into buffedout screamers.
Eat: Kick off the day by wolfing down a chorizo and migas breakfast burrito at La Cocina de Luz. At night, walk to Brown Dog Pizza to carb up, then wind down with sativa chocolate from Telluride Bud Company.
BRECKENRIDGE SKI RESORT, CO
Breck has the highest lift-accessed terrain in the U.S., at 12,840 feet, just off the Imperial Express SuperChair. The lines up top are steep chutes or bowls, which turn into quad-burning bump runs. Whale’s Tail, between Peak 7 and 8, is usually loaded with soft bumps, and funnels naturally into Vertigo, one of the mountain’s best steep mogul runs.
Eat: At Breckenridge Distillery, sample one of their whiskeys or juniper-heavy gin alongside chef David Burke’s patented steaks, dry-aged in Himalayan pink salt.
SUN VALLEY RESORT, ID
The original destination ski resort in North America still offers celebrity sightings and a rowdy nightlife (or what passes for it these days). For bump lovers, Exhibition is one of the most iconic mogul runs in the West. New this year is a high-speed quad that’ll open up 380 acres on Bald Mountain, with an open bowl up top that feeds into freshly thinned glades.
Eat: Grab the best burger in town at Michel’s Christiania, where Ernest Hemingway himself ate. (Reservations are a must.)
IKON PASS
SQUAW VALLEY ALPINE MEADOWS, CA
The mountain’s name will change in 2021, but its 6,000 acres, which have long attracted some of the biggest showoffs in skiing, will remain the same. Take KT-22 Express lift for Moseley’s Run—a long, fall-line bumps run named after Olympic mogul champ Jonny Moseley.
Eat: Grab après drinks at the Tram Car Bar, a restored 1970sera tram. Ikon Pass holders get deals, like a free Backscratcher, a spicy riff on the Moscow Mule.
KILLINGTON SKI RESORT, VT
The “Beast of the East” boasts 3,050 vertical feet of riding—the most in New England. Test your mettle (and knees) on Bear Mountain’s Outer Limits, a half-mile of moguls careening directly down the fall line. Carve down the 6.2-mile Juggernaut, the longest trail in the East, or enjoy some cruisers on Killington Peak and Snowdon Mountain.
Eat: Journey to Rutland, 15 miles away, to chow down on an ancho pepper ribeye, then wash it down with a craft beer at Roots the Restaurant.
STEAMBOAT SKI RESORT, CO
Steamboat is famous for its perfect glades, trademarked (literally) champagne powder, and crowd-free runs. The
evenly spaced aspen and fir trees hold powder days after a big dump, and its two most popular glades, Shadows and Closets, are 1,900 vertical feet of branch-free fun.
Stay and Eat: The slope-side Steamboat Grand hotel has an 85,000-gallon heated outdoor pool and full-service spa. At Laundry, snack on small bites and sip a Fiery Margarita, made from pepper-infused tequila and lemongrass simple syrup.
3. Family-Friendly (With a Side of Thrills)
Planning a family ski trip that pleases the little ones and sneaks in some stoke of your own can seem like a harebrained endeavor—but these resorts prove you really can have it all.
EPIC PASS
BEAVER CREEK RESORT, CO
The bulk of the resort’s 150 runs are immaculate blues and greens, plus many ski school instructors are person- personable former pros. Kids will go able bonkers for the skating rink, Thursday night fireworks, and dedicated learning terrain.
Stay: The Osprey is sophisticated yet homey, and the Strawberry Park lift is right outside. For an upgrade, book the Trappers Cabin; it sleeps 10, has ski-in/ski-out access, and a personal chef.
NORTHSTAR CALIFORNIA, CA
This resort blends California cool with European charm. Its 3,170 acres are split nicely between buffed-out groomers and more challenging glades, like Burnout and Monument Glade. For the kids—and limber adults—there’s a terrain park with flawless halfpipes and well-maintained jumps.
Stay and Eat: Rest your head at One Village Place. Two chairlifts out front make it easy to get the kids organized and out. Hit up Rubicon Pizza Co., followed by Italian-level gelato at Euro Snack.
STOWE MOUNTAIN RESORT, VT
Since Vail Resorts purchased the mountain in 2017, Stowe underwent major upgrades, making it arguably the best big resort in the East. There are 314 inches of annual snowfall on 485 skiable acres, over 50 percent of which are blues.
Stay and Eat: Stoweflake Mountain Resort and Spa is a quick, free trolley ride to the mountain and across the street from local favorite Piecasso pizzeria.
IKON PASS
ASPEN SNOWMASS, CO
With four peaks to choose from, Snowmass has more acres of terrain (3,342) than Aspen’s three other resorts combined. There are plenty of wide-open cruisers and more challenging runs, like those on the East Wall.
Stay and Eat: The Viceroy Snowmass has a heated outdoor pool for the kids and a 7,000-square-foot spa for world-weary parents. Snowmass Village is removed from the Aspen scene, but still close enough to town and barbecue joint Hickory House.
BIG SKY RESORT, MT
Big Sky is one of the largest resorts in North America, with 5,850 skiable acres, 4,350 feet of vertical, and 45-degree slopes beneath the Lone Peak Tram. It’s also full of mellow groomers, and has kiddie perks like a tubing hill and seven terrain parks—plus fat biking at the resort and Bozeman’s dinosaur-heavy Museum of the Rockies only an hour away.
Stay: The Whitewater Inn has a pool with a 90-foot waterslide, perfect for young kids, while the Summit Hotel is more upscale.
SUNDAY RIVER RESORT, ME
The resort sprawls over eight peaks and 870 acres of terrain, with 53 miles of trails, making it one of the largest on the East Coast. It’s also great for beginners; more than two-thirds of the runs are blues and greens. There’s tubing and dogsledding if the kids’ legs get tired of touring the mountain.
Stay: The Grand Summit Hotel has ski-in/ski-out access, and a heated outdoor pool and hot tub.
